Top Gear Season 19

Post by Big Kev »

It's back this Sunday.

Episode 1

Series 19 Episode 1 of 7

Duration: 1 hour

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May return for a brand new series. In this first episode, Jeremy attempts to build a car that's even smaller than the famous Peel P50. He then tests it out on the streets of London before putting his concept to the ultimate test of credibility in the fearsome Dragons' Den.

Meanwhile, James is testing the latest Bentley Continental GT Speed by taking it on a rally stage. Plus Richard is at the test track to unleash the sensational new Pagani Huayra hypercar before handing it over to The Stig for the lap of its lifetime. Homeland star Damian Lewis is the star in the Reasonably Priced Car.

Amen! I've even resorted to watching the CH9 chopped up repeating repeatable repeats on the odd occasion.

Me too! The bond car, and worlds worst car eps gave some minor relief. But I'm hanging for this! Shit thing is I'll see maybe 2 eps and I'll be off overseas for 6 weeks. So I'll miss most of the season and have to wait till I'm back.

The tickets tend to be sold out at least a couple of years in advance.

I think they reset the queue before every series don't they? Undoubtedly too late for this series though.

Scottie is planning on staying there for about 10 years so he might be in with a chance if they keep making the show. Big if.

Good first episode.

Usual stuff but seemed a bit better than the last couple of series.

I thought the cinematography on the Bentley item was particularly excellent.

Episode 2

Series 19 Episode 2 of 7

Duration: 1 hour

The brand new series of the world's most popular car show continues with an epic road trip across the western side of the United States in three front-engined supercars. With Jeremy Clarkson in a Lexus LFA, Richard Hammond driving the new Dodge Viper and James May choosing the latest Aston Martin Vanquish a glorious soundtrack is guaranteed, as are furious arguments about which is best as the trio head from Las Vegas to Los Angeles and on to Palm Springs. Along the way, the three presenters take in racing circuits, airborne attacks and a race against the police before making a break for the Mexican border with a terrifying penalty for the last car to make it. Meanwhile, back in the studio, legendary Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood is the star in the Reasonably Priced Car.

Good episode.

Episode 3

Series 19 Episode 3 of 7

Duration: 1 hour

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May engage in an epic race from Wembley to the San Siro stadium in Milan. Hamstrung by a rule about price, Clarkson maximises his bang-for-buck with a 35,000 pound, 662 horsepower Shelby Mustang GT500, while Hammond and May pin their hopes to the ever-improving pan-European rail network. For the winner, tickets to a top flight football match. For the losers, only the stench of failure and a long trudge home. Plus, Jeremy slithers about the test track in the brand new Toyota GT86 coupe and car-loving singer-songwriter Amy MacDonald is the star in the Reasonably Priced Car.

Jeremy Clarkson subjects the new Kia Cee'd to a thorough road test involving eels, curry, a rock legend, an American cop, and a rather unusual game of rugby involving James May.

I vaguely recognised the name but wasn't sure what 'hit' she'd had. Turned out she did a song which was used a lot on the BBC 2008 Olympic coverage so that's where it rang a bell. Other than that she doesn't seem to be that well known, but at least she's a car nut. Plenty of guests are only there to plug a film and have little interest in cars.
