There is a World of Warplanes, and its awful compared to War Thunder.

Playing a bit with the Ground Forces version, still needs polish but it can be fun:)

Been playing war thunder for quite a while. I worked my way up through the British planes... My mates and I actually just switched to the Russians and started fresh and found we had more fun flying the tier 1 Russian planes with crappy guns and nimble flight, than the bigger faster planes with big cannons. We have pretty much stuck with tier 1 Russian planes since. There's kind of no point moving up anyway, everyone you play against has as well, so it's not like you get a relatively better plane or gear. It's fun to try out the other planes, but really, the dog fighting is more fun in the quicker turning planes.
