The Tigers can ROAR!!!!

Post by Threeps »

WOW those Tigers are pretty damn fine. I am biassed though. What a fine effort tonight against the premiers. 54 - 2 against the Canterbury Bulldogs.

Could they go all the way?

I hope so

Very nicely constructed narrow minded comment Stu. :D

[history lesson]It was the Blmain Tigers until after the 1999 season, where they were forced into a merger with the Western Suburbs Magpies (both founder clubs from 1908). They have since been known as the Wests Tigers and for the first time since the merger, they have made the finals. And look to get a top four spot also.[/history lesson]

to be honest I knew they were now called Wests Tigers but not until after I posted. But even though I knew they were Balmain, I would never have been able to guess that the "Wests" part of the merger were previously magpies.

I only watch 4 games of League per year and 3 of them have already been on. :)

I was tempted to pick the Eels but finally decided that the Dragons' form is just too goood at the moment. I think Gasnier will carve yet another team apart.

Should be another great game tomorrow

I'm more an AFL fan but don't mind league, the tigers were on fire last night. I'd be wary of getting too overconfident though, some of those plays while quite spectacular were very hit or miss and against a better team could get you in trouble.

I have no idea about league. For some reason, Union is more appealing. But I have little to no idea about rugby. For starters, why do you have prostitutes on the team ?

 no one took the bait Nige. The reason they have hookers is that no one will stick their nose up another blokes arse for free so they need them.

Unless you are talking about off field, then they need hookers to avoid another 'Bulldog Binge'

Oh and I saw on sportsworld this morning that it was 70's week. Does that mean i was right in calling the Tigers Balmain?

Well they certainly did, what a magnificent result, especially for the merger of two founding clubs.

Not a great grand final but if you are a Wests Tigers fan then it is great, plus another Sydney win, woohoo

Everyone I go for at the moment loses :( Now I know what it feels like to be English :p

Poor ol' Cowboys.. I think they looked better with the ball. They just had fewer points on the board.

I loved it, how good was Pat Richards after the injury that should have put him out for three weeks. And the confidence of young Benji to give a flick pass to him in a grand final. Where's the conservative approach to win the big games? I guess they played the same style of football that got them there, and it paid off. :D :D

Scott Prince's kicking game was superb, probably was the difference between the two in the end.

A team game, a bit like AFL, except it isnt played by poofters leaping around like ballerinas and taking dives when Bazza Hall gives them a love tap. And we use a proper footy, not a shrunk down footy made smaller ( cnat find proof of this, so lets just make the assumption that Im right and we can all be happy) so those faggots can kick it further. And its red, just like an AFL players arse after his team mates have had their way with him. They are so soft in AFL, they award a point if they miss a goal just so the fudge packers who play it dont burst into tears.

Hmm, that seems about right. :p
