Bah f' it, I can not get that bastard city of mine to turn a quid, it occasionally shows signs of coming good then it all goes to pot again. Off to do some research.

Yeah. I moved out of my old one. I'm going to attempt the tourist thing with it later if I can keep it together.

People need to pay for public transport and other services. Only way I could make decent money post nuke was to manufacture computers and sell them on the global market. I'm losing 50+k/month running the city but making 3-4M/month profit from the computers.

Losing all my industrial zones to radiation was a blessing in disguise :)

It starts as SimCity and ends as SimChina.

I'll have to update my experience. I'm not enjoying this game all that much.

I've found that the few things don't work as planned annoy me :( . Fires are one. The AI is stupid there where they queue up for a lifetime for a single fire. Sewage is another. I found that it just all pumping all to one treatment plant and none to the other new treatment plant meaning an expensive waste each month (whoa, pun) and meaning that I have a shit problem (I pun it again) with the city arguing. Basically any service really does not work well and there's no point going overkill on the services, just build them before you are prompted to and it'll be fine otherwise you'll be bugged over nothing for a very long time.

There are just many other things too game wise. For one, one of my cities doesn't specialise in anything and it turns over a profit just fine and by the time I think I should try making more money there's no point, the city area is already full. That's not to say the city couldn't be improved but I don't want to make a full density grid city and the city has basically hit stability. I've found that you can power a city with about 60k population by wind power alone with "good" planning. I would try nuclear but the game makes me feel like I shouldn't trust it at all. By the time you need a nuclear plant also, there's nowhere reasonable to put it.

Basically, the size of the cities, broken game mechanics, the AI and having my hand held through the entire game just doesn't seem right to me. I might head back to SC4.

All points are spot on , it might be a good game/sim whatever once it's been patched to buggery.

Typical EA rushing shit to the market that is not finished and not beta tested enough not that EA are alone in this practice but i,m getting pretty tired of paying for unfinished games with fundamental faults.

For anyone interested I've setup a smaller region on the test server. 7 cities I think. I can't invite you till you open up the test server, but if you do let me know and I'll invite you.

*Edit, first thing I've noticed it chetah speed seems to be working on test server.

Sigh..

SimCity’s first free DLC is a logo-plastered Nissan Leaf charging station.

When I left my city it had +3M/month profit. Went on last night to see how it was after the patch and it has -600,000/month and all my factories were stopped because there was no plastic and none was being imported. Guess it's time to start a new city. I'll finish Bioshock first. Maybe they'll fix some more stuff by then.
