Saw the previews today, glad I'm building a sim rig the classic stuff could be epic.
Although a mate has informed me no McLaren MP4-4 & no Adelaide circuit. :(

The 18min youtube interviewing the developer with game footage that KNAPPO linked to in the comments of my FB post is Excellent.

I like F1 2012 and I've said I wouldn't buy any more as it wont be much different to what's already available.

I was wrong and I want to buy this version.

Sweet but what is all the fuss about with the limited classic edition version given it only includes the 80's pack only???

I think I'll just get this through steam on release.

Codemasters has released a detailed list on the classic content that will be featured in their upcoming F1 2013 title.

While buyers of all versions of F1 2013 will receive iconic cars from the 1980s, the 1990s cars will be reserved for users of the Classic Edition.

1980s (F1 2013 and F1 2013: Classic Edition)

1980 Williams FW07B – Alan Jones & Alain Prost
1986 Team Lotus 98T – Mario Andretti & Emerson Fittipaldi
1988 Ferrari F1-87/88C – Gerhard Berger & Michael Schumacher
1988 Team Lotus 100T – Satoru Nakajima & Mika Hakkinen
1988 Williams FW12 – Nigel Mansell & Damon Hill

1990s (F1 2013: Classic Edition only)

1992 Ferrari F92 A – Jean Alesi & TBA
1992 Williams FW14B – Nigel Mansell & David Coulthard
1996 Ferrari F310 – Michael Schumacher & Gerhard Berger
1996 Williams FW18 – Damon Hill & Jacques Villeneuve
1999 Ferrari F399 – Eddie Irvine & Jody Scheckter
1999 Williams FW21 – TBA & Alain Prost

When it comes to tracks, both versions differ as well. While Brands Hatch & Jerez will be available in both titles, buyers of the Classic Edition will enjoy Imola & Estoril as well.

I'm going to build a new PC in the next few weeks to be able to play this and Guild Wars 2 better. I'd still be able to play this well on my core 2 quad and 6850 but an i-5 4670K and 7970 overclocked will be much much better. :)

Does anyone know if the Classic Edition will be available via STEAM or is it retail only.
I'm hoping I have my wires crossed on this but I'm very concerned with the limited availability of the Classic Edition with many retail pre-sales selling out already. :O
I'm shocked Codemasters would restrict the 90's content so much, surely it will hurt sales...?

EDIT: Forgot the above i have just found it on STEAM - 10% off too: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/30568/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They've said it'll be available as paid DLC later on.

Umm not if I'm reading Big Kev's post above correctly?

Hmmm...

This was in an FAQ published on Virtural R a while back.
If I buy the Standard Edition will I still be able to purchase the extra content at a later date?

Yes. The 1990s content and the classic track pack will be available via DLC a few weeks after launch.

Is the Classic Edition limited?

Yes there is a limited supply of Classic Editions. If you miss out on this limited run you’ll be able to gain access to the exclusive content via DLC after launch.

Yeo they did say that initially but that's why i am now confused as I think they have changed their minds as they realised there was no incentive to buy the limited Classic edition...
But it's all a bit secretive & unclear, hence my caution.

1996 Williams around Imola.... what a blast!
Id much prefer a classic season as opposed to random cars from the past or even be able to run any car on any track!

Still good fun in time attack :)
