Re: Beer you're enjoying
Anyone else had any brews from Pirate Life? (Adelaide brewery, run by 2 blokes who used to work for Brewdog)
It's been hard to come by in tassie over the last couple of months, but dang it's tasty! Their midstrength IPA is gonna quench my thirst this summer quite nicely

Great beers, and the pub is awesome! We dropped in there on a Christmas party years ago doing a treasure hunt and they had to physically remove meCursed wrote:Lord Nelson Brewery Three Sheets.
It's been probably 15 years or more since I occasionally visited the pub and imbibed many a pint of this stuff before staggering to the other end of the city for some Chinese. It's not exactly the same, but all the essential flavours were instantly recognisable to me.
I haven't tried the Rogers, I might do that, I love everything else from Little Creatures.pixelboy wrote:It's good stuff the Three Sheets.
I'm enjoying Little Creatures Rogers at the moment as a daily drinker with lower alcohol but still a good malt colour and taste! I alternate that and Atomic Pale Ale.

Re: Beer you're enjoying
Just worked my way through a half dozen of these.
Bloody phenomenal I've never tasted anything like it, the bite of a good fiery curry in a beer!
It's made by Matso's a small brewery over in WA. Only thing that could keep me away from making it a regular is that it's quite expensive, 75 bucks or so a case.

It's such a shame we don't have many of them left. They're all generic, sterile copies of each other built to house pokies these days.

We abandoned the Nelson when they put TVs in. It was the thin end of the wedge.
Mind you, we kind of gave up on the Friday night pub thing not long after.

this stuff is amazing...
Way too much hops and loads of malt to balance but only tips the scales at 3.5% ABV!
Check it out!

Love the pirate life beers!!
We started off with the IIPA and it's big alcohol and big price!! So smooth for a big beer!
Now we've started enjoying the pale ale, again so smooth. Gotta try that IPA pictured.
That GAB poll has helped these guys immensely, great product (still trying to get used to cans...)

That's from the northernmost brewery. In the world.
Cycling total for the day was 207 km so the beer tasted most excellent
Much cycling such kilometers.

Sorry as I know this is possibly complete blasphemy but if one was to try non-alcoholic beer would anyone here have any recommendations?

I will try and track down a twitter buddy that was trying them all out (the few he could get in Melb) and see what he had to say. Pretty sure it was thumbs down and he went to non alcoholic ciders instead.

Clausthaler if you can get it. It actually tastes like beer. It's pretty big in Europe, where we had zero-alcohol limit. Schlossgold also used to be decent.Duke wrote:Sorry as I know this is possibly complete blasphemy but if one was to try non-alcoholic beer would anyone here have any recommendations?

Re: Beer you're enjoying
Thanks mate.
Tried the first one, it's "only" 7% alcohol, the weakest of the four in the pack. The taste is very unique, mild & smooth, nothing like I've ever had. I could get used to this...
