Re: Nexus 5
Anyone tried CM11 M2 yet, interested to see if it's any good, I'm a bit reluctant to wipe my phone at this point as I never had much success with CM roms in the past on the GS2.

Re: Nexus 5
This is the first phone that I actually don't want to muck with. It worked right out of the box and battery life is fantastic. In saying that the customising bug bites hard and feedback on ROMs would be great!Shonky wrote:Anyone tried CM11 M2 yet, interested to see if it's any good, I'm a bit reluctant to wipe my phone at this point as I never had much success with CM roms in the past on the GS2.

Yeah I'm still running stock (rooted). Doesn't seem to be a compelling reason to switch and all I see is a wasted few hours reinstalling everything and setting it up again.

Re: Nexus 5
CM on a Nexus will be much better than on a GS2 or just about any other phone as the devs can work straight from the source code and have all the drivers available. On most other phones they have to hack around things and you end up with bugs.
On the subject of staying stock my HTC One is the first phone I've yet to unlock since being right into custom roms there for a while. I think Android and the top level phones have reached a point where there isn't that much wrong that needs to be fixed and the performance level means they run super quick even with stock un-optimised firmware.

Re: Nexus 5
It's a phone with a camera in it, not a camera with a phone in it. What more are you looking for in a mobile camera?

Bah who wants to hear your logic man, my point being the software takes what I assume is several 8mp shots and spits out a 1.6mp image, where'd the rest of the data go?

Re: Nexus 5
I got one of these gel tpu cases as a stop gap thinking I'd buy a Casemate tough case down the track like I did with my GS2, but I don't mind the gel case and I'm not sure I'll bother now.

Re: Nexus 5
My fellow N5 owners, any of you having issues with the GPS since 4.4.3?
I tried to use it today on high accuracy for the first time since the update to 4.4.3 with Google maps and found it was hopeless, it couldn't hold a fix for more than a few seconds and then it would begin searching again. I have some GPS test app installed and used it to clear and update the AGPS data to no avail, right now as a GPS it makes a bloody good phone.

Re: Nexus 5
I've been reading that there was an issue regarding some devices with the GPS. I've yet to experience it, but I believe it's being worked on. Battery drain was also another issue.Shonky wrote:My fellow N5 owners, any of you having issues with the GPS since 4.4.3?

One issue that I seem t randomly get is when I have my alarm on when it's plugged into the AC charger, it's charges extremely slow. I'm thinking it might be the charger but would expect it to happen all the time, not just when the alarm is set. It's a weird one.

Re: Nexus 5
Anyone think a factory reset might fix this, I've searched high and low and would have thought this problem would be more widespread so I'm beginning to wonder if it's a software glitch with my phone?
