Must be like racing a postie bike with that almost centrifugal clutch acceleration out of the corners :)

There is no doubt we must change but imho I find generating power from what was once waste is way more sexy and I wonder just how long it will be before sub one litre hybrid engines are the norm in motor sport apart from America of course.

Something does not seem right here... Both of those units are awesome, yet somehow the series cars missed the mark... It's almost like they were desperate to use a gearbox...

Good pick up woodsy, not sure what Garth was getting it in the original footage, must have been trying to keep temp in the fronts... :)

But it is a much better car than the formula e's...

I guess time will tell..

Looked like that think was hitting about 230kph down the straight at SMP....... As posted above love the fact it just sounds like my RC car running down the street :)

I was disappointed by the Formula E test vids, hopefully they are not running at full capability.

They aren't. The cars have been speed limited at the test.

I had flash backs to watching electric RC car races.

I can see why they want street circuits for it but might have to see where they can take it. For now... ugh.

Then again, I remember Chris Harris tested this and I thought "holy shit, the future looks awesome". Forget the sound if it tears through the air like that.

Does good stuff, that Chris Harris bloke.

Let me get this straight; 4000 nm of torque... not many diesel locomotives can do that.

I say bring it on.

It's interesting that Drayson - who is one of the biggest supporters of the format - just sold out of his Formula E team. I don't know if any reason was given but it's not a great endorsement for the sport.

Actually looks pretty fast. I feel like it needs some kinda noise though, even some electric motor noise. I guess it does, but just can't hear it over the wind noise.

Just seen #FormulaE trending on Twitter and it looks like the marketing strategy is working; a lot of people at Donington today queuing for the pitlane walk:

Good luck to them :)

They should get AC/DC to play at their first race. It'll make their hair stand up.

Tyre warmers are banned... They use too much electricity...
