The Golf Club, early access now on Steam.

Looks interesting. You can generate new courses with a few clicks, or hand make them.

I saw this yesterday too. Anyone tried it? I don't know if I can be bothered with another early access thing.

Gee, it is awfully tempting, just to create courses on its own, and my Shot Online account keeps needing to be re-enabled

OK, bought it. Just played a quick round.

Seems nice enough. It all works, I played with an XBOX360 Controller because it seemed like it was designed for it. Haven't tried the course editor.

But, if you like golf games, definitely worth a look.

was just on my way to this thread to ask you what it was like :)

Thanks for sharing  Been some good and bad reports on Steam forums so i was keen to hear the thoughts from someone sane. Your comments will suffice until that report comes in

What's been bad? I'm happy to answer questions once I get a good look at it tomorrow.

It runs really well on my machine, but I have a pretty grunty rig. The commentary is mildly amusing, I could see it getting boring if there isn't variety, but I wouldn't place any importance on that aspect.

Other than that, it's exactly what I was hoping it would be. A modern non arcade type golf game. From what I've read, the course maker is supposed to be pretty intuitive.

I'll post some stuff once I have a play.

just typical trash talk.

The game runs like a pig
Mouse controls dont work properly
Where is my god given right to have a power bar

Sounds like it is ok for an early version though. Might give it a go

Did anyone ever give that family pass thing a try? Could we sample the game from someone who owns it already?

Thanks for the game Righty

I know you dont know we played a 9 hole course just now, but we did. I thought it was terrific that I could play against a ghost round previously played by a Steam friend.

This game has potential

This is on special today, on steam. $14. Despite it's average reviews, it still has me tempted - anyone else got it?

I'm not sure why it has average reviews. It's a great little golf game if you ask me. Only issues might be that they are fictional courses. Even then, I'm not sure if they have real ones yet but there is a pretty good course maker, I'm sure someone's made some "real" ones.
