Today’s the day we can finally talk F1!

First things first, we’re working on two new Formula 1 titles – one on old gen, the other on new gen.

Coming October 17th (21st in NA) is F1 2014 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Drawing upon all our experience in developing Formula 1 titles down the years, F1 2014 recreates this year’s incredible season featuring all the seismic changes to the sport, including new turbocharged cars, new circuits plus all the driver moves.

Now onto new-gen. 2015 will see us release our first title on new-generation platforms. The game will launch earlier in the Formula One season and then go onto receive live digital updates. These updates will deliver 2015 content into the game as the season unfolds, ensuring you’ll be competing against the same drivers and teams you watch week in and week out! The game will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

We’re incredibly excited about new-gen F1 and we know you are too. We’re not yet ready to reveal everything about it yet, but we’ll have a lot more info to share once F1 2014 launches this October.

I'll probably buy this when it comes out just to start getting my son into F1. He sits on my lap whilst I play racing games these days and I don't have an F1 game of note to play with him. It's also the only motorsport he doesn't watch on TV because I watch it live after his bed time and every other code gets taped and watched when he's up.

At least with 2014 F1 cars I won't ever have to stuff around with gear ratios!

Scottie's frustrated that other sims can't simulate the KERS properly to feel the pre-boost wheelspin they're generating this year.

Because of this, I'll just try it out at JB or something before I buy... will probably wait for the new engine in 2015.

Yep I'm also thinking of bypassing 2014 to wait for the new engined 2015, the only thing that might entice me is the 2014 version obviously having the new engine package...

Exar, maybe keep an eye out on when the 2013 version gets discounted & get the fantastic classic content pack they did for it... ;)

This one seems a little more polished to me although they still got something very wrong, the size of the crowd...

Betta Lines usually brings us detailed Oculus Rift DK2 reviews of Sim Racing titles, but this time he has a look at a title that does not yet support the virtual reality headset.
In this video Betta Lines takes a first look at the upcoming PC version of the Codemasters F1 2014 title.
The video contains allot of in-game footage of a quick race at the Red Bull Ring. Betta Lines also makes a comparison between the F1 2013 and the official F1 2014 Formula One title.

So I've just had a run in this and... I'm fucking awful!

I found I can't go full throttle till 4th gear and even then I have to be careful. There's 29 types of steer including, under and power over but also won't bother an apex steer, into the fence steer ect... It feels as bad as they look on TV. Got a very flat rev range and they don't stick to the track and the power comes in for wheel spin a bit savage at times which caught me out a lot!, so Codies have done not a bad job. It made me laugh my arse off at how bad I was and I felt like Albert Park was a tarmac rally! So it's ticked one box, fun.

It's good for a laugh and run against AI but it's the same old game with newer cars and it should be fun. It was pretty easy to set up my G25 but it's never seen so much sawing in any Codies game. It's pretty good and would be a good buy when it's cheap or you want the series like I do.

ah good one Dr. Pain, sounds like they have the power & torque modeled very well to what we hear & see of this years F1 cars.
But I'm taking your advice & waiting for it to go on discount before grabbing a copy. :p

I played F1 2013 last week Flinty and felt like I wasn't on it enough, like I wasn't reacting fast enough to get the most out of those cars. It's balls to the wall all the time. 2014 however feels different and you have to manage things better like throttle application and getting the tyres warm. It's not the die hard F1 sim people crave but it gives a nice feel of what it might be like.

Got my G25 sorted and was much better, 66% Steering saturation and 50% Steering Linear worked for me. Still I suck but suck a little bit less. Had fun though. :)

2015 is a new game engine Nutty. This was never going to be much different from the past games, just new cars and some tweaks. Easy to understand why people would be pissed at it.

They should have at least included the classic cars again - or even built on that foundation.

I think you will find F1 2015 will have special content with it, whether that's classic F1 I'm not sure but iirc there was mention of something different / new for 2015. ;)

Codemasters F1 2015 Release date and previews
I wonder if owners of 2014 will receive a bonus given "the cars, drivers and tracks from the 2014 season included as bonus content.".
Today, Codemasters announced that their officially licenced F1 2015 racing game will be released in June 2015 on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The official game of the 2015 FIA Formula One World Championship will be distributed by BANDAI NAMCO.

The game features the 2015 Formula One season cars and tracks, but will also have the cars, drivers and tracks from the 2014 season included as bonus content.

Codemasters confirmed that the game has been built on the new version of the EGO engine making it possible to boost the quality of the visuals, physics-based handling model and tire model. F1 2015 will boost enhancements of the engine and transmission, aerodynamics, fuel tank, force feedback, suspension and most notably a brand new tyre physics model

The game features a Championship Season mode, Quick Race, Multiplayer and a brand new Pro Season mode. F1 2015 will also be using voice recognition technology available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles to engage with their race engineer through in-game voice commands with Kinect (Xbox One) and the PlayStation Camera or compatible headsets for PlayStation 4.
