Chromecast not casting

Guys,
Mate of mine has a Samsung S4 and bought a Chromecast.
He's having trouble streaming to his telly as the option to 'cast' isn't available?
Can anyone help?

Has he set up the Chromecast?

No idea tbh.
He believes (after some google searching) it won't work on an S4.
I find that hard to believe!
Figured someone here would have it working with an S4....
Are there two versions of that phone though?
From what I can gather there is the 'normal' one and a "google play" version?
Seems Chromecast only works on the Play version?

He needs to also add the Chromecast app to his phone and make sure it connects from there.

Just checked in with him.
He's running the chromecast app and connecting to it fine.
There should be an option within the app to 'cast' - he isn't getting that for some reason.

As far as I know you throw from within the app you are using. So in YouTube there should be a cast function.

Yep, the little TV icon from within the YouTube app. Maybe he needs to update the YouTube app as well.

Is there a limit to what you can cast?
He was interested in Foxtel Go/Play (whatever it's called) and then casting it to his tv.
Is that doable?

Only if the app supports it. It'll have the little icon in the app to connect to it. If it doesn't now it may in the future.
