I'm very tempted.
I've been wanting to update my 550D for nature and long stuff for a while now. I've got the money waiting...

Built-in GPS**

Why the **? It has taken Canon way to long to include this.

Yes it has...

My housemate works for the Dolphin Research Institute and they need GPS location for fin ID'ing. It's made it hard for them, as they were kindly donated gear by Canon, but Nikon has had this needed feature for a long time. It's one area Canon are playing catch up (although it's obviously been an intentional omission for a while along with an Intervalometer). This is good news for them, and I'm sure many others.

Olympus formally announced their worst-kept secret yesterday:

http://www.dailycameranews.com/2014/09/ ... -f2-8-pro/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Price is pretty reasonable. No built-in IS because Olympus users already have it in the body.

They are also making a 1.4X teleconverter for that lens, which will be a first for M.4/3.

Shit, that beard is worse than some of the ones in our ridiculously hipster neighbourhood ...

Also, nothing that really grabs my personal attention in the Canon releases, again ... the rise of SD cards caused me trouble recently when I ran out of memory and had to try and get a CF card on holiday, could genuinely only find one CF card in Lisbon.

Oh wow! I haven't noticed them to be hard to find in Aust. Most camera and electrical stores stock them. That's a shame. And yeah nothing there for me either.

I should've had an extra card since years ago so my own fault really. Not knowing the city I could only find non-specialist shops selling photography equipment or the classic Kodak fronted photography shop that doesn't sell anything decent ... these places are mostly about SD cards because they generally only sell cameras that take SD cards, these days it's only the more expensive DSLRs that take CF.
