That is exactly what I posted just up the page :)

I have sent them an email about it. Will have to see what they say.

Ok, so it is now bolted to the desk. As usual, quick and dirty.

First impressions after 17 years with out FF, it is horrible. :)

It is going to take a while to come to grips with it. Turning down FF to 20% helped. 100% was throwing me off my stool.

Wheel advice. Logitech or Fanatec?

Post by DexterPunk »

Yeah I keep FFB pretty low too, and been using it for years. It takes a bit of tweaking to get right. It shouldn't be enough that it interferes with your steering, but let's you feel when the tyres are starting to slip. I've never initially liked a new wheel... They are always a slightly different angle, and feel odd at the start. I usually feel like going back to my old one after about 3 days. But stick with it. You'll start to gel with it after a while, and keep tweaking.

To get that deal you would have had to click where it shows the bundle, or click Configure, then at the bottom of that page there are the different packages listed which you can Add to Cart. Not the best design.

I am pretty certain I just went to your link and added to cart. When I try that now, it shows a wheel and pedals. I dont think that came up when I placed it in my cart.

Just got this back from them.

Hello Todd,

thanks for your inquiry.

I checked your order and you only ordered the Porsche GT3RS V2 Wheel. There is no Pedal included.

And my reply, after many edits...

Hi Claudia,

if that is the case, your website could do with a redesign. I used a link from a mate to choose the bundle.

http://www.fanatec.com/au-en/module/con ... ndle_id=21" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am not sure if I added that to my shopping cart, why the pedals dont get included.

Any help in rectifying this greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Lets see how they go. I reckon YSU is probably getting flash backs. :)

And a speedy reply...

Dear Todd,

it seems there was a mistake on the website at the date you ordered.

I tried it now and it works without problems.

What we can offer you now is that you will get the CSR Pedal for the price of the Bundle. This means the Pedal for free and you only have to pay the shipping cost.

Would this be ok for you?

The "no pedals" text is on the page that relates to the wheel, which is a stand-alone product. You only get the pedals if you go through the combo deal.

I've found their sales/support people pretty reasonable (although slow at times). Use the "ask a question about my order" link on your user profile and tell them that you thought you were getting the bundle.

EDIT: It seems my faith is justified. Their shipping isn't bad as far as I can recall.

Hello fanatec :) At least they don't muck around with you too much.
Shipping should be around $15 - and it's probably worth it. But it is still a shame they charge you for their mistake.
Surprise, no sig. Now there is. Or is there?

Yep... I'd def do it. although wouldn't you have got them anyway, with the price of what you paid? I guess it could be a good compromise?

They are way different.

The brake is so heavy. 15 minutes driving and my foot is sore.

This FF and new pedals will make a fucking man of me yet. ;)

Wheel advice. Logitech or Fanatec?

What's the brake like?? I know the A1's have the dual spring. I always liked that. Specially when you get it tweaked so they start to lock up just after it's engaged. The CSP I'm using have the load cell. Different again but has great feeling for when you're about to lock brakes. Are they a dual spring? Or just a really heavy duty one?

You getting use to the FFB? And tweaked it a fair bit yet?

I'd love to give one of those wheels a go.

Have I asked enough questions?

The brake is heavy. A lot heavier than what I am used to with the A1. You have to remember, I have been using the same wheel since 1997. This is a big change for me.

I have played around with FF, but am still coming to terms with it. Catching a slide it feels like I need to do the opposite of what I did with the A1. Not sure why, but I am getting there. It is a very different experience, but I can see the benefits. If I can unlearn the non FF aspects, I reckon I will love it.

Hm...as far as I recall you can adjust the spring tension on these pedals. RTFM.
Mine is about the same strength as the A1's 2nd stage - I've probably adjusted it.

And I still miss my double-springs from the A1's. But otherwise it's more accurate, longer throw, far more adjustable...

Is there not a little knob on the back of the brake pedal to adjust something? I think it's either strength or throw of the pedal...

It might just be on the V2's I guess, or I might be completely wrong being slack and going purely by memory

You're prob thinking of the CSP load cell adjustment knob. It adjusts the sensitivity of the load cell, not the brake stiffness.

Here's the manual:

Yes you can adjust tension. Mine seems all the way out, though. It's not bad, it's certainly not much stronger than the A1's 2nd stage as I said. But it maybe a different batch or something.
