I wonder though, will a G25/27 shifter plug in?

Umm, I think that might be asking a lot if Logitech's history is anything to go by. Were or are the G25 & G27 accessories cross-compatible... Nope.
So I'm not holding much hope, especially given the new wheel is really aimed at the new-gen consoles (PS4 & XB1)

Shouldn't that be a plus for you Duke? As the only real difference between a console and PC version of a wheel is often a lot more buttons on the console version.

Looking at the "issue" like this makes me think it can only be a good thing for PC users.

And yeah I'm not talking about a hardcore pricey wheel because Logitech don't seem to be interested in making a product for that part of the market.

Its funny the Xbox one is marketed for xbone and PC but if you look on the ps3/4 one it says about Windows 7 and 8 8.1 etc so obviously both will work on the PC. Not sure if i can justify the upgrade. Eventually i will for sure but once they can be had for $250 not 400 lol

I don't see any of it as any real issue. As I feel most buyers will not want a separate shifter anyway.
Like I said last week this wheel is great for the market as a decent reasonable priced budget wheel (if $300-400 is reasonable) is sorely needed.
Saying all that the wheel is not for me, I don't need to replace my G25 yet & when I do I'll be going more upmarket by choice not cause I don't like this new Logitech wheel.

So... I'm kinda hoping the PS3/4 wheel will still be compatible with PC... who wouldn't want a rotating dial there?
It'd be great for moving brake bias or if you drive the F1 car, diff settings.
Only thing is the colours on it... brefer a duller theme so it doesn't detract from the stuff on screen.
Come to think about it, it wouldn't matter seeing some of us will be using a Rift soon anyway :)

I've never had any issues with my G27 though (until I tinkered with it)... so I guess this'll be the wheel I get whenever my current one might kark it,

It's a good point you make Scottie...
The new Logi wheel could make it much easier to navigate buttons while in VR, given they are very distinctive in their layout & shape as well as right there on the peripheral you're holding.
It would seem much better than trying to find & navigate a kb or button box off to the side somewhere.

The rotary dial on my Fanatec BMW rim is magic for this sort of thing, you can also click it up/down, left/right and like a button so in iRacing I can navigate the black boxes, adjust in-car settings and fuel/tyres etc. for the stops all with the one dial.

So, it turns out the G27 shifter will plug into this new wheel.

I read that yesterday, will try and find the link/source.

The Inside Sim Racing review confirms it.

Soo I got a G920 last week after deciding my g25 needed an update, soo far its been a poor decision.

1) G25 shiftier doesn't work with it (well at least on xbox)
2) Forza 6 has a massve brake deadzone, you need to apply at least 100kg of force to get to 100% braking, might be ok in a full sim rig but doesnt work on my office desk/chair ( http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/turn1 ... onfig.aspx )
So even if you apply the 0/20 deadzone configuration it lasts 20-30min before you have to quit all the way out and enter it back in again and it basically turns your brakes into a on off switch..
3) Cant get wheel settings correct in Dirt rally.. massive deadzone
4) AC the wheels just shakes massively so I cant play ( http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index ... 1-2.25416/ )

Sorry to hear nutty, but why the G920 when you already had a G25?

So many reviews & discussions already saying it's not worth it as it's not really an upgrade. Better to grab a new G27 before all the stock runs out. For me a Thrustmaster TX system seems the better replacement but again only just.

My suggestion is sell the G920 as a consoler will sure buy it at close to what you paid for it, then go grab one of the two systems I mentioned above. ;)

OK.
Got a G29 today.
On install the Logitech software went haywire saying it wasn't compatible with my OS.
Having had the Win 10 icon for a while thought the upgrade might solve it.
From another post here, did the direct download and install.
4 hours later Win 10 looking good, but same problem, Logitech download driver said
"incompatible OS error"

The button appear in the wheel controller, but no wheel or pedal axis.

Ideas?

Drives me mad. Nothing seems to last.

I am half tempted to get in the car and grab the G29 from Harvey Norman for $299.

God knows how long this will take to fix and the GT86 comp is Wednesday. Fark.

I thought the G29 and G920 had issues with Assetto Corsa? Maybe have a read of the forums before you make any purchase.

PS With all the issues I've had with my Fanatec gear, I don't think I'll be buying any of their stuff again... :(

I am sure I read that some people are using the G29 with AC without issues. maybe it was before the 1.2 update.

Edit. This from August.

Anyway, for $299 I figure I wont lose too much on the G29, and if it doesnt work with AC, i should still be able to get my fix with PCars for now.

Go a G27 if you can find one, why pay more for the same thing that has compatability issues and no shifter!

Getting one local is impossible. Plus, the cheapest i can see it online is $279. Add postage and it is near the same price.

Then add in resale if i do want to unload it in a few weeks/months. I doubt I could get the money back on a G27.

I'm thinking reformat and fresh Win 10 install.
In Tassie all this week, so I'll worry about it when I'm back.

Or maybe G27 wheel with G29 pedals for know if that works, as it was the G27 pedals that started all this.
