Why the fuck would you slash at a ball like that when your side is 5 for 29.

Fucking great captains knock mickey.

6.... This is embarrassing. Kudos to Broad, devastating bowling.

Rogers, Smith and possibly Nevill are the only Test Batsmen in the side.

This is the most astonishing session of Test Cricket I've ever seen. That duke is swinging like a taped tennis ball.

OK, I've been watching Test Match cricket religiously for approaching 40 years, and this is getting close to the worst performance I have ever seen from an Australian team (I won't declare it yet, but nothing worse is coming to mind).

Someone edited Broad's wiki page :)

''Stuart Christopher John Broad''' (born 24 June 1986) is a God, who was sent to destroy all Australians sent before him

Definitely one of the worst team sporting performances I have ever seen (and I'm an NUFC supporter!!!)

He should have gone 2 years ago IMHO.

That was like going into a prison shower block and throwing your soap on the floor.

Just read this on the iRacing forums:
This is Test cricket and we just failed the test.

Clarke's shot is probably the worst I have ever seen. Clueless.

It was doing a bit but NOT that much. In fact we might have been better off if it had been doing a lot more as it would of been play and miss rather than swing and nick. Just a total collapse of temperament and technique.

And now the Brits are showing that it is not just a dodgy wicket.

Ripping delivery to claim Bell. Can't say this is not entertaining!

Some amazing stats from today

- 60 is Australia's seventh lowest ever Test total.

- Australia faced 111 balls which is the fewest of any team in the first innings of a Test.

- It was also the third fewest balls faced by Australia in any innings.

- Never before in an Ashes Test has extras top scored for a team.

- It has been 16 years (Sri Lanka in 1999) since both Australian openers failed to trouble the scorers.

- Five wickets were taken in 25 balls - the fewest number of deliveries since ball-by-ball data began in 2002.

- Stuart Broad claimed the fastest five-wicket haul in Test history, taking 5/6 from only 19 balls before finishing with the miserly figures of 8/15 from 9.3 overs with five maidens.

- His final figures are the best figures in an Ashes Test.

- Before today only Graham McKenzie (6/34) took more wickets before lunch on the opening day of a Test.

- England's lead of 214 is the third biggest lead in Test history after day one.

- Joe Root is the first batsman to score a century on day one of an Ashes Test batting in the 2nd innings of the match.

Ok, I have watched the highlights. Jesus.

This just confirms what I have been saying for years. They get too many roads to bat on and not enough varying conditions. That ball was moving through the air, but jesus, it wasn't unplayable if you ask me.

Imagine this aussie batting line up on a first day pitch in Barbados against Marshall, Holding, Garner and Roberts!

Some rethinking, and major restructuring required I think.
