So Driveclub is all but dead to me after what is, possibly, the worst game launch since Sim City.

The Crew is now available as a beta for PS4 and XBONE. Have had a quick blast. Looks to be like a good alterative to the Need for Speed series.

I think I'll try it on PC before I commit to a platform, but it may be better as a console experience. I don't think it would be very enjoyable with a wheel to be honest.

Anyway, if you have a next gen console, it's worth a look while it's in Beta.

Given the clusterfuck that are all Ubisoft releases of late, I'd be gun shy of anything from under their control. As an example, if you bought AC:Unity with the season pass, they are offing a free game as compensation for the buggy release, it's Sim City all over again.

Well, the Beta seems to work fine. Something the Driveclub chaps didn't do. That game (Driveclub) still has things locked and isn't working. That's like 5 or 6 weeks after launch.

These companies need to sort their shit out.

Ugh hope I don't like it then lol

so after a quick half an hour is it just me or is just eh? like its ok but it just feels like its going to get super repetetive super quick and i dunno the cars feel really big on the road, its a strange one lol

Played the PC beta, then played the PS4 beta a month later,... And I definitely won't be buying it day one.

The handling was almost unplayable with a keyboard but surprisingly fun with the wheel (after playing with the settings). Reminded me a lot of NFS Most Wanted. Playing again on the PS4 though the game just felt rubbish. Twitchy handling, weird deadzone and progression, etc. The map is freaking huge though, took me an hour to drive from east to west coast, but then whole areas of it can be very sparse and simple. A lot like Test Drive Unlimited? Oh yeah, and the game only has ~20 cars?
