Pretty much yeah. If that indeed is the reason it's pretty pathetic.

This could be the best thing to happen to Top Gear. It was getting very stale and predictable and was going to end at some point. But now if they all end up somewhere else they might have more freedom to do things a bit differently. It's like they got trapped in a formula that made them a success in the beginning and either wouldn't or couldn't deviate from it. Ditch the script writers and just let the 3 of them go be morons and film it. It'll probably be more entertaining than what they've done the last few years.

I see james has added subtle hints he is out as well...

Yeah I saw a quick interview this morning where he said the three work as a package. I doubt either of them will continue on without Jeremy.

I'm sure they are well aware that the dynamic between them is the main reason TG took off the way it did. By sticking together they will all make far more money than branching off alone.

And the years of jokes built up over that time... then a new guy that just is not the same.

Unused footage of Jeremy Clarkson taken during his last days at the helm of Top Gear will be screened later this year, the BBC has said.

Kim Shillinglaw, controller of BBC Two and BBC Four, said the footage, though incomplete, is likely to air this summer.

She said: "No way would I want the available material not to be seen by viewers".

Too bad they can't put it together with the crew one last time for a send off. Then again, they'd likely refuse that anyway now...

From what i've seen online (grain of salt etc)... James May has quit, along with recent reports of producer Andy Wilman. Clarkson, May, Hammond, and Wilman apparently met up for a few hours, talking about who knows what. Or maybe they are just mates and wanted to have a few beers. It seems like the team that really was Top Gear is still together. I wonder what they will come up with. I kind of hope it isn't basically the same thing, and they use this as a chance to reinvent themselves. On the other hand I wonder if they have been at the same formula for too long, and don't know how to.

Wasn't 'Sniff Petrol' a Top Gear writer? Wonder where he will end up.
