I'm about half way through this and found it very interesting. Goes through a number of different styles and genres from portraiture to abstract. Examines the work of people like Andy Warhol, Cindy Sherman, Nan Goldin, Gavin Turk and a heap of others. If you're stuck for ideas, this won't do you any harm and in my own case, the ones I had were not replicated in the book.
Very worthwhile.
