Hmmmm...third time it was much easier to get up to almost 30k. No traffic jams! And I've done it without mass transit so far
Surprise, no sig. Now there is. Or is there?

Re: Cities: Skylines (The game Simcity should have been)
Zen Garden
Works for me
EVERYBODY GET'S ZEN GARDENS!
Okay I was writing something more serious about this but it got out of hand way too fast.
In short; we goofed, majorly, on the sendout of keys to the promo item "Zen Garden" that was rewarded to people that signed up to our pre-launch newsletter. A whole lot of people ended up not getting their item which is obviously a bad thing.
It was intended to be a one-time exclusive just like pre-order items or stuff we'd give away at conventions. Alas, with the extra struggle that appeared with the missing keys, we decided this shouldn't be the case.
So we're giving it to everyone.
We'll update both the standard and deluxe versions to include this item by default. As we're working with the Steam backend it might take a little while for it to update, but expect it to pop up in-game (under parks) some time today.
Please note that we're not planning to make a habit out of giving away promo items to everyone. This is a one time thing.
Cheers,
The Cities: Skylines Team

That GTA mod looks good.
Some play it safe on the merry-go-round, others go for the thrills of the roller-coaster.

Some tips and tricks, quite handy some of them. These are not spoilers, rather explaining the game mechanisms.
(eg that offices are in fact industrial zones!)

Being that the other 2 types have High density.. and unlocks at the same time, did you think it was something else or just an example?ysu wrote:..(eg that offices are in fact industrial zones!)

Pretty easy to think it's something else I reckon, otherwise why not call it high density industrial?

Indeed.
Seen a number of people upload bad interchanges, well not bad as such but not ideal as there to tight.
So some might not of seen this.
Or the ever faithful roundabout.

Re: Cities: Skylines (The game Simcity should have been)
Those who thing they got it all sorted out (I felt like that too) or just need a bit of a challenge - start unlocking the unique buildings.
The 50% crime rate is especially nasty
to get there I had to downgrade the city to a level where the 50K city lost people at the rate of 6K at a point! I went down to 10K people - a ghost city, really, by the time I got the building. It takes ages to claw yourself back, too, as people never really flock back at the same rate. Burned through 2mil easy.
The desolation, while working towards this noble goal...this was early on, pretty much the first wave of bad things. Notice, I still got 54K residents.

Maybe you can call a "budget emergency" and purge large swathes of government employees and see what that does to the place.

Actually, education had to be taken off the table entirely.

Redoing significant parts of your road/highway infrastructure is a bad idea if your city is on one side and your dumps are on the other..... Especially if you don't pause the game

Re: Cities: Skylines (The game Simcity should have been)
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/sho ... -to-1.0.6bGreetings!
Seems like our newest patch, 1.0.7b, unintentionally made it impossible to properly load a large amount of save-games.
We are reverting to the last patch, 1.0.6b, until we have identified and fixed this issue.
Many apologies for the confusion and chaos caused by this!
Thank you for your patience and understanding. I will update you with more info and hopefully an ETA come Monday.
For users that still want to access 1.0.7b it is currently available as a steam beta - no password needed, use at your own risk!
Cheers,
John
