Simplest and cheapest HTPC

A few of the guys in my morning bunch group have cottoned on to how much TV I have bought over the years, and want in.

The problem is, I am not sure what is the best way for them to watch it on the TVs.

Is there a sub $100 HTPC type thing they can just plug a USB drive into and watch all sorts of file types? (MKV, AVI, MP$ etc)

Simple is first priority, cheap is second.

Yup. Way to go.
Its got a few annoying little things like shitty remote latency and it doesnt keep the setting of playing the next episode after the previous one finishes but its pretty easy to work with otherwise especially with a usb hard drive

Yep, WD TV.

I'm not sure if they'll be fine to play super high bitrate 15GB+ MKVs but hey, that might not be a concern :) Just covering all bases.

Wow. $150 was a bit more than I expected, but if it is super easy, that will have to do.

Thanks gents.
