For under $25k, is there a better sporty hatch.

Excellent - great little "warm" hatch. A shame they've never put a bigger engine / turbo in it as it'd be a competitor for Clio RS etc then.

They go hard enough though for some fun, it's only really right off the line and then above 150kph they really struggle, everything in between is fantastic lol. If it was for me I may want a little more oomph but it's great for my missus

Not sure where wobbly is getting his figure from, but if they were I'd have bought it. ;)

Haha yup! In saying that though it wasn't much more, we bought just before end of year so took advantage of some good deals. They all come with $500 of options included, we got another 500 thrown in, as well as premium paint for nothing and a bit more knocked off as they classes it as ex demo, even though it only had 50k on the clock, and we put at least 35 of those k's on it when we took it for a test drive.

I've currently just got a 2013 triton glr dual cab but get to chose myself something brand new in 6 months time so get to go through the process again.

It was just a rip from this article, of the review of the 2014 model.

Good to see nothing's changed wobbles.

Love how the article says its 23990 plus on roads and then goes on to state its 23990 including on roads. Lol

We got the cvt auto with 7 speed paddle shift which is a hoot.

Nice one Hz! I've always liked the swift sports.

Wobbles, I wouldn't have thought the Fiesta ST would be much different in price.

Yeah, especially considering that the Suzuki Australia website lists the base price as $24,990 and the drive away price as $27,465 (for SA).

My ex had one of these, loved it, like a little go-kart. Nice one Hz. Definitely a change from the radioactive green V8 thumper but still nice :)

So it's a pretend paddle shift? I love CVT but dislike that it pretends to have "gears".

Well. Cvt fooled me all right. When you use the "gears" it changes the transmission ratio. Which is what gears do, innit?

Like ysu said, it uses paddles to shift through ratios, don't know how it could be any MORE paddle shift.

It's like saying tits ain't tits cod they are A cup and not DD cup, not as much fun, but still tits

Maybe the swift does it well, I just know the corolla I have with CVT has "sports shift" and supposedly 7 gears. However if you nail it in any of said gears the result is pretty much the same.

Also it does not appear to have much at all in the way of engine braking. If you sports shift to lower gear to help engine braking it does bugger all. Overall (in the corolla's case) the CVT is much better just left to do it's own thing.

Ofcourse it may be quite different with the swift so nevermind my rant :p

Well it chirps the tyres into third. And engine brakes pretty damn well, enough to want to throw you through the windscreen if u accidentally give the paddle an extra love tap. It's as responsive as my momo Logitech lol
