Re: DiRT Rally
Wow, did 3 stages of Germany in the 2010 cars. What a blast!
Think I'll be spending some more time in this sim now.

Re: DiRT Rally
Yeah I started an 11 stage rally last night and got through about 4-5 stages. The experience is just so much more intuitive, yet at the same time, doesn't feel dumbed down.

Re: DiRT Rally
I don't care what anyone says.
BEST. SIM. EVER!!!
Just completed a 12 stage rally of Germany in the 2010 WRC cars. On the limit its so dam intense and you need to have total commitment to the pace notes. The only time I feel this kind of pressure is in the heat of battle in a league race, but with Dirt Rally its every bloody corner of every stage!
OUTSTANDING.

Norbs once said he didn't really like Rally games. My guess is the pace notes go a little too fast for his old brain.
Im so getting a week off for that comment!

Did not like. The interface is fucking horrible. Wouldn't let me map the buttons I wanted on the wheel. Never have really liked rally games anyway.
Just thought I would see what the fuss was about knowing I could get me money back.
Now I know I am not missing anything. But glad you blokes like it.

The interface is not that bad, in comparison to Project CARS
Strange about the wheel, last night I was able to re map every button and even get the ones I wanted onto the button box.
Even lets me map the handbrake to one of the little joysticks on the Fanatec wheel which is super handy for chucking it into hairpins. AC wont recognise those joysticks for its life
Each to their own tho. Glad you can get your coin back these days. Did the CD links referral program thingo stay in the ARSE bank?

I keep meaning to change the pace notes... I'm fairly sure you can... I think I saw that somewhere. I find that often I'm getting the information when i'm almost right on top of the corner. Not always, just sometimes it's a little bit too slow.
I'm biased, but fuck i'm loving the Impreza. Sounds amazing in the replays too. I get the same feeling playing this as I used to with RBR... Hard to describe, but that feeling of 'Not sure if i'm pushing too hard, or not hard enough'. You just constantly feel as though you're teetering on the edge of brilliance and a spectacular fuck up. And I like driving a little bit within myself and trying to look after the car, because you know that it will pay off later in the rally. I feel like they got it so right. Actually quite easy to drive, hard to drive fast, and rewards concentration.

Re: DiRT Rally
Norbs did you give it a chance past the UI? All it needs is a mouse otherwise its well laid out I thought.
The intensity and concentration required once you're up to speed and familiar with the cars is thrilling! As Knappo referred to the only thing that comes close is in the heat of battle in a Arse league race.

Re: DiRT Rally
Yeah fair enough, I havent really got into a rally game since 1996! Absolutely loved that though.
As far as handling goes, I grew up driving a leyland p76 on dirt roads so these cars are a piece of cake in comparison

Re: DiRT Rally
Im loving this game. All I am playing atm
Only doing the online stuff. I just finished my 2nd monthly challenge but dont have the coin for the 2010 car for this month. Last month in the Stratos was terrific fun. Finished in ~250th. Been doing the daily most days. They have added a 2nd daily where you need to own the car. Havent been able to do one of those yet. A 2nd weekly comp is good too. This week is in the new car at Germany. I will spring for that car and am already doing the standard weekly challenge.
You blokes need to get on these challenges. I often look to see if anyone else is playing along If you already are and I dont have you on Steam, let me know.

Re: DiRT Rally
Anyone else had an issue with error code 41? Seems to be pretty common on the forums, and no real solutions.
Have downloaded game, but as soon as I click Play, it goes, finishing install, gets to 1% then I get the error message.
Looks like I will be trying out the refund process soon, unless I can find a solution.

Re: DiRT Rally
This title is a great candidate for refund, indeed
I can't play it; it just jams my "up" key in software, but so thoroughly so, that only a windows reset fixes it.
I could not get to drive it. Seems to me these guys can never get a user interface properly done. Never. They fail at the roots.
Even to get to this point I had to wade through 100x intro screens and 200x menus.

The only funny one is the DLC - it seems they eff up the registering of times on DLCs, so you can only get your money back on those if you don't play the game for which you get the DLC up until your refund is granted. My brother has run into this.

2hrs and 2wks. On early access games, though, you can ask for it till release, and the 2hrs/2wks applies after release.norbs wrote:2 hours of play time I think it is.thornz wrote:How long do you get to request a refund?
