Verdun
I have never been into FPS but have been playing this for a couple of months, WW1 trench capture FPS lots of fun, active aussie server.
The developers are active with new material coming so.
I think it is going for $12 at the moment but was in a four pack for $20.

Re: Verdun
I have this but I don't think I've ever gone online (was hoping they'd have an offline mode with bots to practice on). Easy to get into?

Re: Verdun
Bloody hell - this has come a long way! It is pretty awesome now - fast, gruesome and scary and they now have Diggers. They have introduced a quasi single-player mode in this and Tannenberg where you can set up a custom match with up to 63 bots plus you; and the game now can add bots (quite competent as far as i can tell - certainly they will attack and defend and I got killed plenty of times) to a multiplayer game to fill out the numbers.
It now has really good gore, bodies (including yours) stay on the ground for a while so piles of bodies build up in hotly contested trenches and you die a lot, often pretty gruesomely. Luckily respawns are fast and depending on whether you are attacking or defending, you don't have to go far to rejoin the action. I've only just started playing it, but its great fun and at a big discount now on Steam.
You can buy both games Verdun and Tannenberg in a bundle and its worth getting both. Verdun is trench warfare - you start either attacking or defending and then vice versa, trying to hold or seize trenches. Tannenberg is more manoeuvre warfare with fewer trenches.
I'm getting 90fps with Ultra settings on my old PC (i5 2500, GTX 1070) with 64 players, lots of smoke, explosions etc.
Anyone interested in playing?

Re: Verdun
Good timing. I mentioned to Box and Cursed the other day that it could be good to find some other coop/party games to play outside simracing. Something we can have quick games of without the time investment of No Mans Sky etc. This could fit the bill if we get enough interest
I've been looking for free games without much luck. Insurgency could be an option. Cursed mentioned the Star Trek VR game though it's 4 players at a time and VR only.

Ok, so I am on board, looks like Box is on board (that usually means Slow comes as DLC) so we should pick a night.
I feel like Mon or Tue night would be best for me.

Beauty! See you at 8.30. Will we set up a custom game just for us (we can make it private) and some bots?

Sounds good. I could go more frequent if others were up for it.
