Ha! That made me laugh.

Anything concerning Leica usually does. It's not that the equipment is bad. It's seriously good. It's the people who are attracted to it who amuse me. Like those who paid US $10,000 for a Leica Monochrome camera (sans lens). After all, what can you do with 256 shades of grey that you can't do in post?

Native monochrome sensors are quite a bit different to colour. Sensitivity can be vastly better, as well as dynamic range. A lot of specialised scientific digital sensors where information is super important and colour isn't, are monochrome for these reasons. Also some of the extremely fast high speed video sensors are monochrome for the same reason (also less data to move in a hurry).

Whether or not Leica B&W hipster cameras take advantage of theses things... I have no idea. They are still way over priced.
