When the off-track, open-world racer known as Forza Horizon was introduced to the gaming world in 2012, it was clear that the atmosphere of the Motorsport spinoff was just as much about the music as it was about car culture.

Now into its third iteration, Playground Games is taking the Horizon Festival experience to new heights in the Land Down Under with 146 songs playing across eight different in-game radio stations. For those keeping ‘score’, that is 79 more audio tracks in Forza Horizon 3 than the series’ original launch on the Xbox 360 (which just became compatible with the Xbox One).

What many may find to be more impressive, however, is the ever-expanding assortment of music genres and artists. Thanks to an official reveal by the Turn 10 Studios community team, we now see just how diverse the soundtrack is in Forza Horizon 3.

For all those XBOX players that have been itching to get their hands on the game, Microsoft have just made their Forza Horizon 3 demo available for download on XBOX One! Now players will have the opportunity to explore some of the vast Aussie outback in their bush basher of choice and get a good feel for the upcoming title.

Windows 10 players hoping to try the demo will find that it will not be available for the PC. We can probably put the lack of PC version down to the pending launch of ”ReCore” which is set for September 13. Microsoft Play Anywhere-enabled titles will give players the opportunity to purchase a digital copy of a supported game (only available in XBOX Live supported countries), allowing them to play said game on either the PC or XBOX One platforms at no extra charge.

Microsoft is also letting people know that there will be differences between the two platforms and XBOX One discs are compatible with XBOX One only. Scroll down for the full Microsoft statement.

Make sure you have enough room available on your XBOX’s hard drive, as the demo tips the scales at a whopping 18.3 GB! The official release of Forza Horizon 3 is scheduled for the 27th of September, 2016. Early access players will be able to purchase the game five days earlier.
Features may vary between Xbox One and Windows 10 versions of game. Xbox One game disc for use only with Xbox One systems. Xbox Live Gold membership (sold separately) required for online multiplayer on Xbox One. Cross-device play only in Xbox Live-supported countries, see xbox.com/live/countries. Some music features may not be available in some countries. See forzamotorsport.net.

Anyone know if you can buy the Win10 version of this on disc to save the huge download? This game release is the most confusing I think I've ever seen.

Found out this morning from someone on Whirlpool, if you buy the Xbone code from cdkeys you can redeem this in the Win10 store to get the PC version, std version works out at $82 at current exchange rate. Haven't tried this myself as yet, but I probably will on the weekend.

Leaked Smoking Tire Car Pack for Forza Horizon 3
Spotted on cosmo3900’s Twitter page ahead of an official announcement expected to be made later today.
The Aston Martin Vulcan track car is one of seven new rides set to be included in this month’s car pack offerings, if a recent leak is to be believed. The leak seems to confirm an earlier suspicion of one other car, set to be featured in this very pack accompanying the Vulcan: the Valencia-built GTA Spano.

Among the heavy-hitters of the pack one might have noticed another limited edition sports car, the Lotus 340R. Built in 2000 at Lotus’ Hethel factory, only 340 examples were built – hence the name – and were all spoken for before the first model touched the assembly line. The more extreme variant of the Elise uses a custom bodyshell with the noticeable absence of doors and a roof panel. Adopting a 1.8-liter Rover K-Series VHPD (Very High Power Derivative) powerplant, the 340R was able to blaze a trail with 177 horsepower going to the rear wheels. While not sounding like much, it’s a terrifying prospect when the car’s scant 1,485 pound curb weight is taken into consideration, and a power-to-weight ratio approaching cars with more than two-times its power.

2016 Aston Martin Vulcan
2016 BMW M2
2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor
1976 Jeep CJ-5 Renegade
2000 Lotus 340R
2016 Pagani Huayra BC
2016 GTA Spano

Turn 10 Studios have launched the first post release DLC for Forza Horizon 3, bringing seven new vehicles to the simulation in the form of the 'Smoking Tires' car pack, a mix of modern performance cars right through to a 2010 Police Interceptor!
The Smoking Tire Car Pack DLC contains seven new-to-Forza vehicles, with the 2016 Aston Martin Vulcan, 2000 Lotus 340R, 2016 Pagani Huayra BC, 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, 2016 GTA Spano, 2016 BMW M2 Coupé and the venerable 1976 Jeep CJ5 Renegade, perfect for the vast Australian landscape found in Horizon 3, being introduced to the game.
The pack is available now and compliments a new update for both PC and Xbox One editions of the title. The patch notes can be read below:

Windows 10
Fixed a performance issue on Windows 10 that caused stuttering with high or unlocked framerates on certain hardware configurations
Improved stability on Windows 10
Disable mouse move detection while driving
The Windows 10 video options screen will no longer ask users to save when no changes have been made
Additional options have been added to the Windows 10 Advanced Controller Menu. These include: Steering wheel sensitivity / Invert Force Feedback / Centre spring scale / Damping scale
Fixed a problem where pre-order cars and the Halo Warthog were not appearing in the Windows 10 version of the game for some players

Wheel Improvements
Logitech G27 is now registered correctly on Windows 10, so the correct default mapping will be applied
All wheels with enough buttons have had the horn added to their default mappings on Windows 10
Fix to dead zones for acceleration and braking axes on wheels
Default mappings for all TX Racing Wheel variants
Fixed a bug where custom input mappings would not save successfully

General Improvements
The Social and Rivals tabs will now unlock for players with Xbox Live Silver accounts
Fixed a bug where the racing line would sometimes disappear
Controller hot swapping is now available. Players can switch between controllers/their keyboard whenever they choose (including the wheel)
Various content fixes for cars

In addition to the fixes above arriving with today’s update, the teams at Playground and Turn 10 are working on addressing further known issues in Forza Horizon 3 including force feedback and wheel support, general stability and performance, and more.
