yeah that was mega. It's a shame that a lot of the guys on this forum aren't that keen on the V8's because they continually produce some of the best racing in any main category. It's rare that anyone pulls out much of a lead and there's always battles going on up and down the field.

Good racing today bloody hot at the track. I had a blast though. Went for a lap in the aus gt safety car and the bloke was driving the wheels off the thing. So good to be on the track

Not likely to rain for the rest of time and it hoses down. Typical Adelaide when there's a car race

The local bureau forecast a 20% chance of 1mm rain, drunken clowns. They are terrible at weather forecasting here.

Weird race as well.

I think we will know the result by the next round. That fuel rule is fucked for a suspended race!

I was out all day so watched tonight. Yep what a stupid farked up rule, even more stupid was enforcing it. So hypocritical given they didn't abide by their own ruling on the start of the race issue. But then they were boxed in on both counts given how some teams used those rules as part of their race strategies.

Question for your gents. How can Nissan enter the fray if they don't have a v8 option in the road cars? Sorry I am late to the party with this. Also, I like they are in the comp, but something I have never seen is a v8 altima at the local shops.

That volvo looks nice, sounds nice and is fast. I should be at PI.

They can use any V8 that the company makes. They had 3 to choose from and the one they ended up using was from an SUV I believe. You also can't get a V8 S60.

I was at GRM about two months before they finished putting the S60's together, at the time it was a pretty tricky Yamaha V8 with a single timing chain; Polestar had a few in stock when they finished with a V8 model years before, of course with the timing chain at the time I went around saying Volvo would do terrible at Adelaide. Then the Jandal happened.

Yamaha do amazing things :D

That is cool that they can do that. Why then aren't we seeing a Chrysler entry?

Scottie is a good head. GRM have done well to sign him

Volvo are pulling support at the end of the year, so it'll be down to 2 official manufacturers, and the guys running Fords. http://www.speedcafe.com/2016/05/04/pol ... cars-exit/

That's a dick move. Supercars is a good brand, Volvo would do well to support it especially in the wake of the PI effort.

Not Volvo - Polestar are the only ones pulling out so for the moment at least all is not lost.
Polestar will no longer be selling cars in Australia so it makes no sense for them to continue backing the team - but Volvo themselves and Cyan Racing could very well still be involved as I understand it.

Even that looks unlikely if the latest Speedcafe story is correct
