Re: VR Games
Thanks Darren for the post. I got Star Trek bridge crew for $28. I like in vr and about to give it ago in 2D. It seems VR and non VR players can play together so an ARSE Trek may have to happen one day.

Re: VR Games
I will check this out in a while. Thanks Mr Smith
I've been bombing in War Thunder and it's a little unnerving looking through the bomb sight knowing there's fighter's shooting at you. But I am looking forward to this.

Re: VR Games
War Thunder is fun in VR... not for those who have issues with motion sickness though. I often fly as a support fighter while my mate flies a bomber. The silly part of it is that we rarely score well, but usually have a huge impact on winning the map. I might have one or two kills, but it's helped him destroy several of their bases.

I think the Blitz thing isn't interactive, more an 'experience'. And free.

Re: VR Games
I recently picked up Moss
It's available in Oculus home and Steam. It uses motion controllers with Rift, so I don't know how it would handle without those on a Windows MR setup if you don't have motion controls. Some research may be required.
It's a cute toy-scale platformer with puzzle elements in a very well created atmospheric setting. I'm enjoying it so far.

Re: VR Games
Not really a game but I'm excited..
https://venturebeat.com/2018/10/06/twin ... -lynch-vr/Just the thought of David Lynch-level weirdness in virtual reality is already enough to make my head spin, but I’m sure lots of people will be pretty excited for this official Twin Peaks VR experience.
The cult classic series is indeed getting its very own experiential piece for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, Collider reports (in fact, it appears Collider’s Games Team is actually working on the project). Set to debut at Lynch’s Festival of Disruption in L.A. later this month, the piece features key sequences that will tip their hat to fans of the series. You’ll start out at Glastonbury Grove before heading into the iconic Red Room, with audio from the show being used throughout.

Thinking of picking up Fallout 4 VR from cdkeys. It's running on a 40% discount on Steam, but cdkeys comes out at over 60% ($27).
I've played over 700hours in the pancake version, so there's not going to be anything new here. I am very curious though.

Yeah I saw that elsewhere, it's very cool. As a tester you'd have to have a bit of faith in it all working right, otherwise you could find yourself head on into a barrier at speed.

Re: VR Games
No Mans Sky had a bad launch, but they've added a shitload of content since then, including full multiplayer coop, and it's become quite a good game. Now it's getting VR support on Playstation and Steam.
I have about 120 hours in it on GOG. Looks like I'll have to buy it again on steam for VR.

Re: VR Games
I picked up Bridge Crew on Steam as part of some cheap software pack a couple of weeks ago. I've given the tutorials a bit of a go, but that's all. Did anyone else end up picking this up?DarrenM wrote:So who's getting Bridge Crew? From what I'm reading it works a lot better with others than single player, so it would be cool to organize some sessions.
I'm just waiting to see what the steam price is. It's only available from uplay at the moment for $70AUD, less 20% if you have 100uplay points.
It's cross platform multiplayer. Steam, oculus home and PSVR versions will all work together which is nice.

Re: VR Games
I bought it but didn't play much past the tutorials. Coming off the back of Elite the gameplay felt a bit limited. Needs to be played coop or a story driven campaign for single player.

GTA V VR mod
A very simple mod to apply to GTA V to turn it into a VR game: https://github.com/LukeRoss00/gta5-real-mod
It runs smoothly for me, but the rendering method they use does give you a stuttering effect. You probably need well established VR legs for this.
Driving through Los Santos in first-person is surprisingly good fun and aiming your gun with your head is so much easier than the horrible gamepad.
It should be pretty easy to reverse the mod out as well.
(I think this might be an Oculus SDK only hack)

Re: VR Games
New Half-Life game confirmed. Half-Life: Alyx
Fingers crossed Rift S goes on sale soon. I want to play Stormland, Asgards Wrath, Lone Echo and Trover Saves the Universe as well but I've been holding off to play them with an upgraded headset.

Good thing the Half Life: Alyx preload is up a day before release. It's going to take me the whole day to download it. 48GB.
