These Mustangs are cruising cars and nothing more. You got power for a burst from the lights but that's it.

The new ones are actually reasonably capable. IRS (finally) and big brakes. They look and sound good too. Massive bargain I reckon.Dr. Pain wrote:These Mustangs are cruising cars and nothing more. You got power for a burst from the lights but that's it.

Re: Ford Mis-tang
They'd have to be, this is the Falcon replacement isn't it Mick? Theyr'e already on the showroom floor aren't they?
I have a mate who is a Holden loving (worked at Elizabeth 6 years prior to joining Army), blue heeler owning, SS ute driving mad kent (Holden badges only!!! - also the most formidable lead scout I have patrolled with), who has not stopped swearing at me since he heard the news of the Mustang coming to Aus. With Holden closing shop and more and more American cars on our streets I am scared he is going to have a stroke. I think he blames me because my Grandfather is Ameri-can, haha. He is filthy about Ford and Holden becoming so institutionalised. And also cuz I keep commenting that I don't mind the shape now they finally found lines that hark back to the 60's shape.
Interesting about the Falcon upgrades hey? I mean you would figure that the cars be uprated to keep up with modified civvie cars but not just to scrape through an assessment.

mmmm.....(HSV owner speaking here so this is very difficult for me to say) I was lucky enough to have the new Mustang out on a race track a few weeks ago.....35 degree day running 5-8 laps per session. Absolutely no issues with overheating or brake fade at all. Very impressed with the way it handled and delivered power. This may change when the supercharger is fitted this month though.Dr. Pain wrote:These Mustangs are cruising cars and nothing more. You got power for a burst from the lights but that's it.

Re: Ford Mis-tang
10 laps would have caused it problems
I do like them though. My expectation would be a go fast in a straight line muscle car. Corners would confuse it!

Yup.Dr. Pain wrote: I like how the car told them to call 911
Interesting factoid: the co-driver (Alex Gelsomino) is Ken Block's regular co-driver, so he's well-accustomed to disappearing into the scenery at high-speed during rallies.
