Re: Nvidia Pascal
Yes. No idea if they're the real prices though. When people found them on the store sites they were removed soon after.

Re: Nvidia Pascal
I would assume so, I thought the 1070 was the 970 replacement? So the price would have to be competitive otherwise it people will stick with maxwell cards? I was hoping to hear more news on this tonight, ocau supporter Scorptec are saying late Friday/Early Saturday morning releaseDuke wrote:$1200 is for a 1080FE right, not the 1070?

Re: Nvidia Pascal
I wouldn't expect a 1070 for anything less than $800, probably even more than that if those 3dmark results are accurate.

Re: Nvidia Pascal
Shit, I was thinking $699 -ish. I still want to see the other manufacturers cards, will put the pc together with no GPU and wait until end July to see what is on the horizon. I would like a hybrid cooled option as I am going a similar route with the cpu.

Re: Nvidia Pascal
I could be wrong, after a few weeks it will be clearer but if you consider R9 Furys are $700+ and the 1070 is significantly better than that then why would Nvidia go cheaper unless they really wanted to hurt AMD. It's interesting where it will fit compared to the 980ti which it seems it's slightly better than and they go for $900-$1k.

Re: Nvidia Pascal
Umm, I think it would be a bit rich to ask near double the cost of a 970 even though the performance gain will be significant it's not worth that price tag, don't you?

Re: Nvidia Pascal
You guys forget that sale tax isn't included in US prices too. 699 US plus 9% state tax. It varies from state to state, that's why they don't include it.
So I'm looking at 760 US for the 1080. That's over 1100 AUS, plus with a declining dollar in Aus and all that crap. It's really not that far off the mark for you guys.

Jesus. That would be hard to justify for me.I suppose if you are on the bleeding edge of technology, the wallet bleeds with you.

Re: Nvidia Pascal
They're still in the phase of discounting the 980ti/970, so the new stuff will be at a premium at least until those stocks drain.
I'm still waiting for my rift, which will probably be another month or so. After that, I'm happy to see if I can cope on my 780ti until Xmas or so, to let prices settle and let a few of the 3rd party vendors offer some extra features. If push comes to shove, the hobby fund can absorb it.

Re: Nvidia Pascal
You're really paying a huge premium to go for the top end, best bang for buck will always be a few notches down. I think even for Rift users a 1070 is not really mandatory, the value propositions will probably be around the 980 level once they drop in price to make way for these new cards.

Fuck me, so $400 Australia tax (based on $699 X exchange rate @ $0.75), guess I won't be jumping on the 1070 bandwagon for a while yet, I have my own personal limit of about $500 for a graphics card that I've stuck to for years, be fucked if I'll pay that much for any card no matter how good it is.c.j wrote:$1295 from my supplier... holy shit

Re: Nvidia Pascal
That's just stupid early adopter price + pointless founder edition mark up.
The normal cards (non founders crap) are $100USD less so I think they'll be closer to $1000AUD. I'll be waiting until we see those before buying anything.

Re: Nvidia Pascal
Yeah mate, I will probably go with the 1070 and see what happens down the track with the Titan. Will be plenty of card in the 1070 to drive what I am playingnorbs wrote:c.j wrote:$1295 from my supplier... holy shit

Re: Nvidia Pascal
Scorptec posted their official prices on OCAU. Seems the price difference is down to brand even though the cards are identical.
ASUS GTX 1080: $1249
Gigabyte GTX 1080: $1249
EVGA GTX 1080: $1179
MSI GTX 1080: $1179

Re: Nvidia Pascal
Gonna pay for the entire R&D in the first month by the way the prices are lol. My supplier has gone off to see if he can find any wriggle in the price given I am buying a whole system from them. But as I said to him if you can't I will wait the 2 weeks for the 1070, potentially $400 difference.
Trying to get some info on the 1070 used in VR. If you guys find anything feel free to share with me. cheers

Re: Nvidia Pascal
No demo stock, my supplier has been allocated a shipment in the single figures, so no wiggle room either. So that's me out of the 1080 race for the moment

Re: Nvidia Pascal
Sounds like we'll see the normal 1080 cards by the end of next month. Just wait until they come out and you'll have proper prices to decide with.
My 780Ti has been good enough for now. Another month won't kill me.

Not having a go at you Sin...
One member of ARSE, who shall go unnamed bought them self parts for a new PC. Then proceeded to procrastinate for months before actually putting it together.

Re: Nvidia Pascal
Back to the topic, 11pm for online orders for anyone who is going to go balls deep and get a founders edition. Air cooled, minimal potential for over clocking and $100 more expensive just cause scares me off.
With computex (spelling?) on at the same time as the release there should be a shed load of info coming out about the rival cards and hybrid, extreme editions etc.
1070's drop June 10-ish...
