I'm on there a bit. It's good fun. Reminds me of all those golf games I used to play on C64 :)

There's a firefox workaround.... but it's kinda crap... changes Firefox's renderer to the IE engine. Too hard if you ask me. I just set the shortcut to SHot Online to open with IE.

I'm at lvl 17 now I think. The update to 2006 looks pretty good too :)

I haven't played for a couple of weeks, but you could still play for free back then.

whats the latest and greatest for golf now? mainly aimed at you Dave. is Links2003 still number 1 for a golf sim? Was talking to Haze earlier and we are both keen to get into a golf sim again. What is the suggested sim to play?

I've stopped playing a while ago. What happens now is that you have to use a special Australian Client to connect. Another hassle is that you have to log in to the australian version of SO, and clikc on connect from there, plus it has to be done in IE, because of Active X.

Just too much of a hassle, plus all the cheating issues behind it have lead me to quit playing.

Sorry Stu only just seen ya post.............yeah Links 2003 is definately the way to go....only just started playing it online regularly again myself :)
I usually get in to MSN Zone and play there......lotta the idiots are gone and most players are reasonably good players and fun games are easy to get.

As for Shot Online they have changed it alot....its still very popular and one of the things they have done is setup areas you can play in
EG we play in Australia so we gotta d'load the Aussie ver and play in our area....the bad news for most people is that it now will no longer
work unless you have Service Pack 2 on ya PC, which i dont so i cant play it :(....and not about to put SP2 on either

go with Pro Stu.....best way to go about this game is try to stop ya swing on the 12 o'clock/6 o'clock marks...thats when ya have a full swing of course.
Also make sure you have the final 1.05 patch...get it here http://linkscountryclub.com/LinksCCPC/L ... e_page.htm

Courses aplenty can be downloaded from here http://linkscorner.org/
