You haven't experienced Tacx-rage yet.. Zwift-rage has nothing on that.norbs wrote:All the new apps have a ways to go yet IMHO. Some many wrinkles that take away from the experience.
Dont get me wrong, I love Zwift (should hit 10,000kms this week), but the frustrations when you just want to get on and ride and something goes wrong

Touch wood, the Neo has performed without flaw. I sometimes forget how lucky I am to have it. No spindowns required, can run without power if needed (the wife unplugs it to use the clothes dryer) and it as quiet as a church mouse.
Fucking expensive though.

Re: Zwift.
To be honest, all of the rage inducing components I've had with my Tacx have been Tacx software related. The trainer hardware has generally been spot on. The newer Tacx trainers that incorporate FE-C like yours are (fortunately) unlikely to go anywhere near those issues.norbs wrote:CLP wrote:You haven't experienced Tacx-rage yet.. It's pretty good for the most part. though it requires a bit more on the hardware side of things compared to zwift. Haven't seen too many real people on there though which is a bit disappointing. hopefully that will changehutchy wrote:Going to set this up over the weekend......has some great potential https://www.roadgrandtours.com/
Sign up for VirtuGo while you're at it .. i think there's no wait list now.

Re: Zwift.
It's in early development they are going to focus on racing mostly......the bikes lean over as they turn and you will have to slow for corners and accelerate out of them apparently. I'll check out Virtugo as well thanks Carl.CLP wrote:It's pretty good for the most part. though it requires a bit more on the hardware side of things compared to zwift. Re: Zwift.
Road Grand tours is a little ahead of VirtuGo at the moment in terms of development. Though VirtuGo has an Aussie connection. There's also a decent amount of encouragement to post suggestions in the forums of VirtuGo.hutchy wrote:It's in early development they are going to focus on racing mostly......the bikes lean over as they turn and you will have to slow for corners and accelerate out of them apparently. re RGT: Canary Wharf will be excellent for crit style racing, though i reckon the 8Bar circuit is a waste of time and effort.. maybe that's just me. And maybe that's an opinion based on the current set up without a need to slow for corners etc. Realistically though, i'm not sure how that will work though, since you can't brake on a direct drive trainer, and you don't want to brake on a wheel-on trainer (unless you like flat spots!)
I did Cap Formentor in RGT a while ago and it was pretty good for the most part, though when the end of the climb came.. that was it.. you just got flipped around to head back down. not even a loop of road to turn you around. weird.

Re: Zwift.
Innsbruck course is a fair effort! :o
The main climb is listed as av 6% or something like that.. that masks the unpleasant 10+% quad burning stretches. Also, the "flat" loop.. isn't :/

I am on a bit of a health kick after the Maldives and #toursnacks

I think I was ~75kg, if not a bit more. After being whipped by you up Norton Summit I decided to do something about that! :Pnorbs wrote:Well as much as it fucking pisses me off, I applaud you!

I did get my weight sub-66kg at one point, but that was fairly short lived! :P
For the record, my weight hovers around 66.5 - 67.5kg most of the time, so I've got it set to 67kg in Zwift/Garmin Connect/Strava to keep things consistent

Re: Zwift.
I dont recall whipping you anywhere.
I might have gotten away from you up the freeway and corkscrew, but that was only because I was keen for a good time. And if I recall, you had done mega kms before I arrived.
Looking forward to 2019.

Re: Zwift.
Well Monday morning I woke up in a lather of sweat and shitting like a sprinkler.
3 days of this means my plan of riding every day in August is out the window after a strong start. Fuck sticks.
The goodish news, I am down 3kgs in a week.
2018 has been a pretty ordinary year for me. Way behind my goal.
