Amazon server. Any volunteers?
Big thank you to Hylas for providing the free for 12 months.
Anyone else want to sign up and hand over the keys so we can keep racing Friday nights?

I don't have a need for an AWS instance but I'm happy to kick in some money towards it if someone else is on the fence, what sort of coin are we talking about norbs/Hylas?

Re: Amazon server. Any volunteers?
Typically norbs just has someone sign up for a free server trial so we don't have to pay for one.Shonky wrote:I don't have a need for an AWS instance but I'm happy to kick in some money towards it if someone else is on the fence, what sort of coin are we talking about norbs/Hylas?

http://aws.amazon.com/
I made a EC2 Instance in the Asia/Pacific region (Sydney) https://ap-southeast-2.console.aws.amaz ... outheast-2
The Instance is the free 30GB volume, there were a few options.
There's quite a lot of options under the services tab. I'm pretty sure the only one you need to touch is EC2. I just provided norbs with the login to the instance, not a IAM account just an account on the VM.
I suppose I could stick around on TS tonight after the race and try to be more helpful. But really to get started I just created the instance with my amazon account, make sure your in the asia/pacific region though. I made a US one initially... I don't remember what version of Windows I ended up with, maybe norbs can answer that. I haven't logged into the instance since the creation.
