I was supposed to be there to help a mate out but getting married and my missus needs a better holiday than Rio can offer. So far I am glad I have stayed out of it, massive shit fight all around. Guys working there are getting stiffed by the local authorities.

I hear the middle east is quite cheap, plus you could act as a tour guide.

Man Opening Ceremonies these days are a sad reeking bunch of hippy crap. I'd rather watch interpretive dance and I'd rather slit my wrists than watch that!

I will watch 0.00000000000000000000000000000000001 percent of the action, and even then it will be because I was watching a news program and forgot to change channel when they report on it.

I didnt even realise they were on. The beauty of abandoning main stream media.

I enjoy the Olympics. Can't wait to see how we go in the basketball this time around. Just too bad Ben Simmons isn't there.

Did anyone see the female road race leader come off? She stopped herself with her face.

Also, the gymnast and the leg break - youch.

I haven't watched a lot but put it on now and then but the ad breaks are so long and then there's so much filler I just switch to something else.

We don't put much pressure on our swimmers do we? I've only been catching it on the news and it seems more about how we didn't win this event or that

Is there anywhere doing a decent highlights package? Haven't watched any of the olympics but wouldn't mind getting caught up properly

bah, it's changed. Iran used to be a great place to visit but it's really gone to shit as a tourist place. We've gone to Tas for 3 weeks for our honeymoon.

Agreed re the pressure, the media could give two shits for 3years and 10 months and then it's all "Our girls, Our guys" lol

I love the Olympics but the media piss me off too.
I hate when they go on about a disappointing result. The athletes have trained their arses off and given their best, nothing else should be expected.

Watched the Ladys Tennis waiting for the Equestrian .. wow what a win..

Puerto Rico just won its first ever Olympic Gold medal, by 22yo Monica Puig in the Ladies Tennis Singles final. She beat Angelique Kerber of Germany (2016 Australian Open Champion). She (Puig) is unseeded in the tournament while Kerber is No.2 seed and ranked No.2 in the world.
