Managed to sneak 9 laps in today, Nathan busted me and did 4 laps on my lap.

Did some tweakages.
Found you have to run it right to the rev limiter or you lose enormous amounts of time. Difference between doing that and shifting on the first red is something like 1 second per lap. Crazy.

All ive managed to do so far is get annoyed at my office chair and its rolling wheels. Anyone got suggestions for a small cockpit?

I really like both the car and the track. I've managed a low 1:36 on the default set with soft tyres and a bunch of fuel drained out. Darren's set made me significantly slower, but I couldn't say where I lost that time.

Good to see you are ok. Are you rolling because of earthquakes?
How handy are you? If you can get a car seat, you can make one up pretty cheap.

Same here mate. I ended up using the default, soft tyres, ripped fuel out and 2 rear wing.Cursed wrote:Darren's set made me significantly slower, but I couldn't say where I lost that time.

I did this (http://www.arseforums.com/phpBB/viewtop ... 82#p425382) with some wood scraps. The chair doesn't roll away anymore. Although, I have found that if I stand on the brakes stupidly hard, I will tend to pull on the steering wheel with enough force to slide myself, the chair and pedals forward - that's very rare, though.NZBanana wrote:All ive managed to do so far is get annoyed at my office chair and its rolling wheels. Re: [AC] CYBD - Praga @ Red Cow Ring 12th - 17th Nov
Hmm, interesting that you guys are a lot slower with my setup. I'm using 1 click shorter final drive than default. Looking at the graphs I do appear to be accelerating better with that compared to Knappo, though not at the top end. Maybe I'm using different gears through some of the corners.
It's also possible I've made it too low causing it to run on the bump stops through the fast corners. I'll have to try again with default and see what's up.
When I used an office chair I was able to replace the wheels on my chair with lockable ones from bunnings, but that depends on the design of your chair. After that I switched to metal rods so that the chair would be in the same position every time.

I'm 0.6 faster with my setup than with Knappo's changes to default. Just driving preference I guess.
There's 0.3 more for me if I could nail it, but it's a prick of a track to get right.

Doing a bit better today. Theres boat loads of time to be found still (a common theme i have). As far as a cockpit goes I'm fairly handy but I might just save up and buy something serious without having to spend all the time!

She has a good front end, a heap more time in the first and 2nd corners on that lap. I reckon there is a mid-low 33 there with some more setup work.
The biggest problem I am having is the bloody thing won't downshift when you ask it, you have to press it like 10 times to get it down 3 gears. Anybody know whats up? it isn't revs related.

I use one of those office racing chairs and I swapped out the wheels for these glide thingies, they stick to carpet really well.NZBanana wrote:All ive managed to do so far is get annoyed at my office chair and its rolling wheels. Anyone got suggestions for a small cockpit?

It's the game Rens. Some cars, it wont let you down shift till the revs are right.

Thanks. I think it might be the debounce setting of 60ms, going to try zero.

That car has no clutch input at all, if I recall. It must be some sort of flappy paddle auto. I noticed similar annoying downshift behaviour on the Alpha for this Wednesday.
