I have had witopia for a while, but it's up for renewal. Wondering if there are better networks out there now??

Used Witopia and PIA testing back and forth, for whatever reason I didn't renew Witopia and did renew PIA.

I don't use Netflix however I did some searching and results from this year showed people using PIA where blocked and some weren't. I know that's not a solid answer but I'd be cautious.

not many work with netflix. None that I know of.

Just another reason to go elsewhere.

I can get Netflix to work with witopia on my phone, but not through Apple TV onto the tv. Annoying.

Heh another thing I don't use. If I find something I'll let you know.

What settings are different between the phone and Apple TV?

I had to do a lot of messing about with static routes on the modem to get the Chromecast to work, Apple TV might need the same thing done.

I've just spent some time getting my synology NAS behind PIA VPN and am using the built in torrent client. Seems to work ok.

Woodsy, why would you need the chromecast behind a VPN? US Netflix?

yep just US Netflix. It defaults to Googles DNS so they need to be blocked.

Seems TD is blocking PIA from it's site.
At this stage, Sydney/Melb/Indonesia.

The us Connections still seem to be ok.

Bumping this to ask whether there is a good cheap VPN out there. I want to access some Netflix content that's not available in the AU one. What's everyone using these days?

I don't know about whether it would help you with the netflix side of things but if I need a vpn for whatever reason I would probably just use the free version of https://protonvpn.com/

Whether it had access or not to your preferred countries netflix, the free version probably wouldn't support the needed bandwidth.
