If like me, you hate all the shit that FB messenger throws at you, all the emoticons, the snapchat style main page, chat heads, then messenger lite is for you! (and your on Android). its mainly for older phones, so has no bloat, doesn't even have the big thumbs up option as I just found out.

Its on Google play, but that wont let me install it on any of my phones, thankfully there is a apk for download. I used that, I Needed to set unknown sources in settings.

Cant find it on the Apple Store either.

It's designed for Africa and other lower device and network spec areas.

It would remove a lot of the tracking and rich media in favour of a faster experience.

I would be careful using the apk as it won't get upgraded with bug fixes / patches etc.
