The Grand Prix Legends modding community shows no signs of slowing down, almost 20 years after the title’s initial release.
After improving the stock 1967 Formula One content and adding several other historic seasons as well as Can-Am sports cars, the newest modding project now turns the clock back even further, focusing on 50s-style Formula One racing.
GPL 1955 will bring the cars from the mid-50s to GPL, a time when motor racing technology was even more simplistic, difficult to handle, and dangerous than in the original GPL title.
You can check out plenty of footage of the carefully-crafted mod below, GPL 1955 will be available for download in Q1 2017.

With such a nice base.. so you blame them..
Some play it safe on the merry-go-round, others go for the thrills of the roller-coaster.

I don't really understand why people are still using GPL as a mod base. Surely the amount of time put into building these mods would be better utilised in a more modern game engine like AC, rFactor2 etc than GPL, which probably only has 10 people left playing it.

The physics of GPL might not have been great but it's the only racing game I've driven that I really felt I knew what was going on 'underneath me'.

Assetto Corsa gives a nice feel in old cars.

I've got AC. Just doesn't feel the same as GPL to me in terms of the feel of the car and how much grip I have.

i recently reinstalled GPL again and i found it to be the other way around. I guess you get used to the little clues each game gives you.

I found the same thing Woodsy.
One thing that helped me a lot in AC was getting a good FFB number. 66% works for me in any car on my G-25.
