By the standards of any normal person, Trump should be in jail a hundred times over but here we are, with the ridiculous prospect of him being president again in a few years. I did used to think the US justice system and democratic process was pretty well thought out but now it looks like a joke.

If Trump gets way with all this, it's curtains for the spread of democracy. The authoritarian leaders can just show these videos to their citizens and say, "look, US democracy isn't immune from corruption and nepotism and certain people being above the law, so we'll stick with what we have, thanks."
