Your honour, I'd like that last remark stricken from the record. :P

pretty much. somewhere in Adelaide CBD is ideal, or North Adelaide; both will keep you pretty much close to everything, plus tonnes of places to eat etc. Norbs might have some ideas. I know that he was less keen on the North Adelaide place he was using.

As for how long... what do you want to do? :) The first Sunday isn't technically part of the race so you could potentially skip that (though the atmosphere is pretty good generally) The race proper starts on the Tuesday and runs to the Sunday.

If you're time poor you could maybe:
1) arrive Thursday night,
2) Challenge Tour on the Friday.
3) Ride out to the McLaren Vale/Willunga stage on Saturday and
4) Hang out at the final stage in the CBD, leaving Sunday night.

Challenge Tour this year look pretty good. Probably not that difficult, but I think is a good representation of some of the nice climbs just outside of Adelaide (eg Gorge Road and most of Norton Summit). It's also an easy ride to get to the start from the CBD and fairly easy to get back the CBD from the finish.

Ill start the planning, if im out riding all day is there much stuff going on in the CBD for the wife to check out?

Looking at the route, it's a bit disappointing that the tour doesn't go along the beachfront and back down Victoria Rd, would be a great chance to show off the beaches and one of the more popular cycling routes.

Depends what she's interested in!
There's (naturally) a lot of cycling related stuff going on in the CBD area. The Art Gallery, Museum, State Library, Zoo are all within easy walking distance. There might be tourist bus tours out to wine regions like the Barossa or Cleland Wildlife park. Another option is catching a tram to the beach. I'm sure there's more.. I just can't think of it right now :P

Getting close now! :)

PACC have just announced that they are doing their Roller Frenzy again, except this time it'll be bigger and better. Rather than being tucked away in the back room of a pub it'll be in the Tour Village! :D

PACC Roller Frenzy has been run and won :) .. this year we had about 4 of the Pro Women compete.
here's the top female qualifier Rachele Barbieri on her qualifying round. Leg speed is insane!

The family and I were going to watch the entry into Victor Harbor, like we do each year, but it was just too damn hot to have the girls standing around.

I can't believe those guys could race in that heat.
