So Jamo, the best part of the track according to many the corners from maggots, only came in in 1991!

So I'm not the only one that always kinda struggled with Silverstone? I don't know what it is about the place, but I'm always certain I've turned left at the same corner about 3 times during a lap. I think it's something about so many fast sweepers, but a lot of it to me, feels the same. I think perhaps it's the lack of landmarks and distinctive turns.

I think the best thing they could do to the track is put back in Copse and Stowe from 1991-1993 and the old Club 1949-2001. Abbey is a pretty mega turn but just lacks the dip of the old Bridge.

Without colour you could take that as someone refining their pencil drawing.

It was quite interesting listening to Derek Warwick on the Sky coverage. He said the F1 people come along and want tarmac run offs and the the motogp people come along and want gravel run offs so they have to balance out the layouts to suit everyone, at great expense. Something like £1m per corner to add all the tarmac runoffs!

What a dramatic race, great for the Championship.
Ferrari must have been pushing the limit with setup for them to fail the same way around the same time.
At least Kimi stayed on the podium, deserved it.
Dani Ric was mega again, if only RBR had a comparable powerplant to compete for the championship.
Bring on Hungary.

It was quite entertaining. I was certain Vets and the Max were going to clash. I was a little disappointed they didn't :)

Pirelli say Ferrari ran too long on the tyres and exceeded their maximum lap life rather than them getting punctures.

Not all change is bad. Copse, Maggots, Becketts & Chapel were in there day an epic sequence of corners.

Right you're :)

They've been eased a bit especially Copse and also concreted, no consequence to fucking up anymore.

That map you posted earlier shows Copse has had 4 variations, and Maggotts, Becketts and Chapel are completely different now.

But people wanted concrete Jamo because if you went off track and got beached as, people got jacked off with it as it took a car out of the race for a nothing incident or they got pushed wide by someone and they got stuck.

I remember it all too well but I do feel it's gone too far. Some areas need to be gravel traps again and some not. If only 5 cars finish a race as 6 got beached ect... the bitching would be endless. It's lose/lose either way.

Anthony Davidson has previously said the same. Going off now doesn't penalise at all. He said there should be some sort of penalty surface like a strip of gravel 2m wide then more tarmac so if you go off a bit it's ok, if you go further you do slow and maybe get stuck so at least going off slows you down.

Tracks aren't designed for F1, they are designed for the track day people to not damage cars and hurt themselves
