Re: Increase in cycling deaths
Amazing that Amsterdam (Netherlands) is so low... maybe the fatalities of pedestrians from cyclists would tell a different story...

Re: Increase in cycling deaths
My inner pedant has awoken.
1. The subject: "Increase in Cycling Deaths" - Where's the increase? Compared to what? I only see one data point per city.
2. The data is bit old, isn't it? The footnote quotes a report from 2010, using Sydney data from 2002-2005. Laws have changed and public awareness campaigns have been rather prominent since then. Is there a second graph missing? Is my browser working? Is this thing turned on?

Re: Increase in cycling deaths
And now, just this week we've lost a prominent bicycle safety advocate. RIP Cameron Frewer. :'(
In the late 80's - early 90's there was a spike in cyclist deaths. That's when/why we got our lovely mandatory Magic Foam Hat laws. I wonder what we'll get this time? Maybe full body armour? Can't wait. /s
