These are worth watching too

This BBC drama staring Anthony Hopkins told the story of the run up to the accident, (the fateful attempt starts at the 1:12)

Marillion's song "Out of This World" inspired the recovery & restoration

Part of me thinks it should have stayed where it was out of respect. It's only going to sit in a museum or do slow demo runs so they could have just made a replica, which is pretty much what it is as most of it was smashed anyway.

I did wonder what the public opinion is like, especially in the UK?
Are you're thoughts typical or is it a mixed bag over there Kev?

Also from what I've watched so far, I understood that 90% of it was restored from original salvaged items?

They should have left the wreak in Coniston water out of respect. The family needed his remains back but it seems they didn't find all of him so the wreak should have stayed.

It didn't get a lot of coverage here. Maybe just in the news for one day as an 'and finally' item.

I'm just not sure what the point was. If they wanted a replica of the bluebird they could have made one but they've ended up with one that's half replica anyway. For me, it should have stayed where it was.
