Which updates?
If you are referring to the Westhill screenies you posted in the other thread they are out. Was driving around the new short layout, new longer international layout and the go kart tracks n backroads last night.
Are you sure as I was under the impressions all the track graphical updates are still to be released & reading the initial update in Aug for the Blackwood update & RaceDepartment suggests this is the case???

Westhill was updated separately a while ago, I think that is what your seeing;
Earlier today we showed you a little preview of the newly rebuilt Westhill Circuit racing environment.
We have now released a test (beta) patch so you can have a look first hand.
This is not yet the official release - there may still be bugs:

I know that pain as I went in too soon on a drying track only to get wets.

A pertinent & very interesting article on Race Department today: What Can Steam Chart's January Figures Tell Us About PC Racing Games?
Looking at the average number of players at any one time over the month of January 2019 shows the following

Grand Theft Auto 5 59851
Rocket League 34321
ETS 2 19165
Assetto Corsa 1997
BeamNG drive 1908
Project Cars 2 1069
F1 2018 1013
Crew 2 884
Dirt Rally 528
My Summer Car 488
rFactor2 468
Wreckfest 346
RaceRoom 346
Dirt 4 302
Project Cars 257
F1 2017 216
Assetto Corsa Competizione 155
Automobilista 120
F1 2016 62
WRC 7 61
Dakar 18 35
Race 07 22
KartKraft 11

These figures are really just for reference, to remind us the "big boys" are in a completely different league to any racing sim. For every person playing AC there are 10 playing ETS2 and 30 playing GTA5.
The rest of the list includes a mixture of games for two reasons. First it avoids the debate about what title is a "true racing sim". Second, while the figures above clearly indicate the big user base isn't for sim racing, it doesn't mean all games aimed at the more casual player are more popular than racing sims.
Sadly Steam Charts can't tell us how many play iRacing. Anecdotally it is in the same ballpark as AC.
(Duke's note: Nor is LFS represented sadly)

I'm amazed ETS 2 is that big. BeamNG is a surprise as well.

I think those stats would rise during the year when motor racing is back in full swing. Most people want to play for fun without having to have gear or test ect... But the race sim numbers still wont be that great.

ETS2 is massive in Europe. Also with the multiplayer mod, gives it more appeal. I've definitely put a reasonable amount of hours into it. Especially the multiplayer side of it.

I thought I might test the AC Sol mod, it appears that a volcano has gone off at Arsewood!
