You can drive any car........

Post by norbs »

...... what would it be. And you can pick a track too if you want.

For me, I reckon the Lotus 25 and the old Silverstone would be hard to pass up. I might have a chance of controlling it.

The Lotus 49 and 98T both entered my brain, but I doubt I could drive them. One of the current hyper cars would be fun. BMW Procar. It was a hard choice.

Porsche 962C at Le Mans, mid 1980's. It would have been a buzz to let one fly down the Mulsanne.

I've never understood the appeal of the 787, unless your a Jap or have an irrational love of Wankels.

It wasn't a particularly good race car, in its entire racing career it only competed in 20 odd Races and only won a single one (Le Mans, no Porsche effort that year) In comparison the 962 listed by the Doc won 21 Championships!

Honestly I think the modern reverance of it can be traced to the fact that it was an absolute beast in Gran Turismo.

I'm with Doc.. 956/962 @ LeMans.. But I would either be driving @ 40% or I'd imagine it would kill me.

Late 80s / early 90s Williams F1 car @ Spa would be a close second.

I agree Jamo. C1 was a mess that year as they tried turning sports car racing into a TV friendly event with 3.5 litre cars and shorter races. So you these highly strung Peugeot 905's, Merc 291's that were bloody fast but more extreme prototypes than older C1 cars, which were now classed as C2. The 3.5's had no endurance where that 787, although slow was near bullet proof.

The quali times say it all but at the end of the day, you have to finish first to win.

962C 3:36.114
787 3:43.503

Anyway the sky marshals are wrestling me for control of the thread again, allahu akbar!

The 962C was an easy car to drive it seems Pix.

I think i'd take a 98T at a fast track, maybe Spa. I know it would kill me, but what a way to go right!

Racing car.... Ferrari 312 at Monza.

But I would scare myself stupid in that so I'd probably settle for an F40 instead :)

Hmm...

I'd have to nominate a Ferrari F2001 around the Austin F1 track.

I'd probably kill myself through Eau Rouge or Pouhon at Spa and Suzuka, but still want some fun corners to appreciate the cornering abilities that took my breath away. I felt Silverstone and Monza don't have a nice mix of corners.

Nice question, thanks Norbs!

So the track is either Suzuka or Spa. LeMans is a bit to long with too many straights the Ring ill get lost and crash

Car wise, hard choice.. Im a massive F1 fan so I think I would have to go MP4/4 or maybe a 98T. Tho I would enjoy checking out a modern F1 car just to see the difference.

Road car is a hard choice, I think I would go modern maybe a 911 GT3 or McLaren P1
