It'll probably depend on the safety assessment that is made in the coming weeks. I guess for comparison, the Sampson Flat fire in 2015 was in a similar location, closer to the race dates and that resulted in no changes.

But yeah, if there's still flare ups occurring, then there might be route changes. Pretty sure there'd be very few complaints about not riding through a fire zone! :P Frustratingly, many of the towns involved really get behind the race as it pushes tourists out of the CBD and into the surrounding townships, helping out their economy massively.

I'd say he's referring to the fires. There are some right on his doorstep and with a hot day on Saturday with winds that could blow it right towards his place.

WTDU - Stage 4 - Adelaide
Very animated race. as there were enough time bonuses on offer to cause a change in the overall standings. First time ever that one of these races has been won by someone in a breakaway.

TDU - Classic - Adelaide
Fairly ordinary weather for this fast and tight circuit. Only one crash that I was aware of, but that split the group and had a heap of riders sit up for the final laps.

TDU - Stage 1 - Tanunda
A relatively quick circuit with a bit of a kick up in the early to middle section. Breakaway was out for a while but got reeled in on the final lap.

TDU - Stage 2 - Woodside to Stirling
A bit breezy today at times. The course started with a few loops around Woodside and some of the recent fire affected regions, before heading to Stirling for a few loops around there.

A few shots from the KOM point on the course, where there was an early 4 rider breakaway.

Breezy as all hell today. Finishing circuits on top of the hill probably didn't help matters!

TDU - Stage 6 - McLaren Vale to Willunga

Final stage and it was a cracker.
Weather started off a bit damp and humid, but fined up very nicely. Almost no wind to speak of.

The large break looked very motivated to succeed, and for a while looked like an unexpected result might be on the cards. It all came down to the wire on the final climb, with an unexpected stage winner taking the honours.
