Seems harsh considering it wasn't even the fastest lap and was in Q1.

They did a LOT to make sure Bottas came out behind Hamilton.
And the reaction...

I felt more sorry for Bottas than Leclerc. He had his race intentionally ruined by the team. I think Ferrari were trying to get Vettel ahead of Lewis but everyone misjudged how quick the hard tyre would be in the first lap.

After watching the Heineken ad for the 100th time, Bottas needs some lessons off Rosberg.

Re: 2019 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX
Didnt Ferrari cover off Max's stop with Seb on lap 18? (ide have to re watch it to see if the Ferrari crew were reacting to the Red Bull crew in the lane)
Agreed they didnt know how quick the hard would be but if Ferrari didnt stop when Max did, Max could have jumped to the lead.
The strategy was played very well for Ferrari turning a 1-3 into a 1-2. If they were not trying to eek out the tyres in the 1st stint it would have probably worked out better for Charles but you get that.
Listening to that video with the radio called to Bottas was pretty bad.
Telling him to slow down more, lap after lap (was he on new tyres at the time?) just so Hamilton wouldn't end up 5th from their poor gamble would have been a bitter pill to swallow. Not really necessary given the lead Loowis has in the championship and the rate Max and co are catching Bottas in 2nd.
EDIT

EDIT
https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/arti ... g8bbuc5vLYThat particular circumstance arose at the end of Lap 18, when Ferrari spotted Red Bull’s pit crew emerging from their garage, with Max Verstappen duly called in from P4. Unable to call Leclerc into the pits in time even if they’d wanted to, instead Vettel, some four seconds further back, received a late call to pit from third place

They need to rethink this race, the go slow till first pitstop has been going on for years & it is ruining the spectacle & the racing imho.
They should either use harder tyre compounds or reduce the distance / number of laps to compensate for the softer tyres.
I feel asleep during the go slow then went to bed early after it was clear the race result was caused by the go slow.
Vettel didn't derseve that win & to say I was pissed is an understatement. Poor Leclerc.

Re: 2019 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX
lol shorten the races because your bored.
with the new regs coming (a year late in my opinion) should provide better racing but what they need to do is not have the tires last so bloody long. halve the tire life. that would open it up

No word on the Bottas go slow Duke? No "Poor Bottas"? How often have we seen Bottas thrown to the wolves to help The Hairdo?
I enjoyed it. The shenanigans in the F1.5 race were good. Alfa and Antonio leading the race was excellent. Ricciardo made some pretty risky moves I thought.
I dont expect the Mercs to be run down, but it is interesting seeing the panic in their eyes now that everything isnt going there way for the first time in years.

Re: 2019 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX
A lot of these issues would be fixed if they had to do 2 pit stops. The one stop races on tracks with not many passing opportunities often lead to dull races. The ones where some other strategies can come in to play with 2 stops tend to be better especially if you've got someone clinging on at the end having 1-stopped being chased down by someone who 2-stopped and is on fresher tyres.
