So I flew a random mission in NeoFly last night to airstrip 63CN in California.

It appears I found the rebel base.

I really need to learn to land properly. Any tips? I find it so much easier in VR, but then I cant see anything else.

Youtube is your friend. I see a lot of how-to-fly vids for different planes on there. Someone on there by the name of "P Gatcomb" has quite a variety. He seems to be a private pilot and he has tips and techniques on there to look at. There are plenty of others on there too. Just look for "how to land planeX fs2020" or something like that.

Landing is a challenge, I agree. I'm usually having problems knowing the right speed to land at and being able to predictably hit it. RNAV and ILS landings can be interesting but waiting for altitude directions from ATC often means I have to descend at unrealistic rates for planes like the Cessna Caravan which is not a pressurised aircraft (so you shouldn't descend much faster than 500 ft/min).

My frame rate went way up. I can now run Ultra graphics settings and get what I used to on low end.

Turns out it was stuck in a loop downloading the same 4 files over and over.. I'll get around to fixing it at some point.

Some of the new options are a bit shit. The blue highlights over things in the cockpit being the big one for me.

It also changed a few of my controls. For the life of me i can no longer go up and down the elevator trim in small increments.

Edit : Not just me with the trim issues.

The blue highlights are fine with me, but not the big banner that pops up with them, which obscures everything around whatever it is being highlighted. That too can be tuned in the Accessability options as per Darren's instructions. With TrackIR it was sometimes hard to keep your head still enough while turning a knob. The way it grabs now with a click-and-hold, then use mouse movement to turn works really well for this.

I find this is a great thread for identifying add-ons including freebies for MSFS: https://forums.mudspike.com/t/msfs-add- ... 10989/1140

Started out as a beautiful live weather flight from the west of Ireland (Inishmore) via Maamtrasna in Co. Mayo, to some tiny airstrip near Castlebar (can't even remember the name).

Started like this, clear as a bell!

Then as I headed east, a bit of low cloud

Until I'm trying to find the strip in this murk. I landed out...

A hell of a lot of the flying in that clip would cost a Pilot his license.

And yes Norbs in the case of Pine Gap probably a prison term.
