Our hospital is already under strain. Double vaxxed lady has asthma but we don't have the services here in Gladstone. They're trying to move her to Rockhampton but they haven't got the staff to help. I've told work I'm working from home until the surge slows down and so is my wife. Kids are staying home as our youngest has allergy issues and asthma butbshes only 4. Son got vaxxed today. He's 7.

US anti-vaxxers are now at the drinking their own urine stage of lunacy. I think it might only be a small step to convince them to eat their own shit.

Some of the hospitals around these parts are so desperate for staff. Today I got a phone call asking if I was interested in working in a hospital as a nurse even though I've only done one year so far. Only trouble is it's germ bag Shepparton.

makes sense that people earning 200k a year, who can likely work remotely without any problems gets access to free RATs.. yet casual workers making $22 an hour cant access them.. /s

People who have ordered RATs online have seen their orders postponed due to government taking over the stock, presumably to distribute to MPs and electoral offices. If the LNP is returned in any state, or federally, then Australians are stupid.

Turns out last week I was negative even on the PCR so i guess I missed out.

I would say I know 30 people with it now, heap of extended family members, a bunch of work colleagues and a few close friends.

My sister seemed to be the least sick, basically saying it was a simple cold.. but few of my work colleagues have been smashed.. dude in my team is in his 30's and almost called an ambulance he was that bad, he pulled through after a few days

I know about 20 either going through it right now or had it in the last 2 weeks. Some only had mild symptoms and some got knocked around by it. My sister in law is in her 60's and going through chemo at the moment and she was relatively ok but her husband got out worse.

Lots of people in my team at work have it or are recovering from it; and several people in our street. I'm getting case warnings nearly every day for places I've checked into on the ServiceNSW app...

Howdy Folks. It's been a long time since I last posted here, but I thought I would chime in with my experience. I started having cold symptoms on the evening of the 30th last month (Thursday two weeks ago). I lined up for the PCR test at Hornsby hospital Friday morning. It was about a 3 hour wait to get tested, and I still have not received my result after two weeks, so that was a waste of time.

My wife was able to get a 5 pack of RAT tests from one of her friends on New year's day Saturday, which I tested positive from. Wifey initially tested negative, but she did another test after 3 days and tested positive as well; so I guess she got it from me.

I'm 40 years old and double vaxxed since August last year. My symptoms were sore throat and general sleepiness that lasted two days. Also had a blocked nose, congestion / cough and a mild temperature that lasted five days. No headaches, muscle pain or "fever level" temperature, so kind of like a mild cold. My wife had her booster shot last month and her symptoms were even more mild than mine: they lasted less than 3 days.

Our 7 year old step daughter tested positive via the RAT as well, but she hasn't shown any symptoms whatsoever. We also have a 2 year old son who hasn't shown any symptoms either, but presumably is positive as well... we ran out of RAT tests before we could find out.

I assume we got Omicron, since it has been pretty easy on us.
