Lifting Spirits at a Shitty Time.

I am trying to think of things to brighten the mood for people.

One thing that I was thinking about, firing up a Minecraft server again and instead of just ad hoc shenanigans, we try and build a project? Anyone keen?

Any other ideas to try and buoy peoples spirits?

I'm keen. There's a heap of new stuff in vanilla (they just added new biomes and mobs to the nether) but I'd also be happy with modded if that's going to work better for the project.

Did you want to build one big thing or have something like a town where people claim a block and make a building on it then start on a different block when they're done? I thought Arseville was pretty great even though I only got to see it at the end.

Honestly, what ever people want to be honest darren. Probably a vanilla version so it isnt too steep a learning curve.

it is just something to do and maybe jump in to ARSE chat and BS the night away. Possibly have a dedicated night like we do for racing. it is basically meant to be a virtual pub, for us all to get together.

Yeah for sure Im in.. Java edition or Windows 10?

We can use realms if we use Win10 and all put in a couple of dollars a month.. You can also play/join from mobile devices..

Lets use some of the BAT that trickled in for a server for a month or 2 and see how it goes.

I have no idea what Realms is.

I am pretty busy with AMS2 work, but will drop in now and then.

Turns out realms draw distance is capped at 10 chunks. Makes it a little difficult to find the rarer biomes. Time of day is stopped?

yeah its fixed to daytime.. I can change that though.

Ill see it I can change chunk distance.

Any other settings changes?

Turn night back on Pix just see if you can disable the damage from the creepers (to the environment not player)

Hmmmm I might be in on this.

My kids want to get Minecraft for the PC so they can at least play with some friends and Discord each other. If they buy their own copy then that makes it easy for them all to play at the same time. We do have the PS4 and im certain that is now cross compatible as long as you have an Xbox/microsoft login and pay for the PS4 to be online monthly... But I doubt there would be online voice chat if I went down that route and the PC option would eventually be cheaper in the long run.

If they do it ide be keen to jump in some night for some building.
