Is just an updated version of the racing line thing that has been around for ages. But this taps into the theory about player rewards (there is a whole topic on this in game development apparently).

I seem to recall a whole thread about the ideal racing lines in games at Race Dept or the kunos forums. The real sticklers say it has no place in a sim. What a fucking stupid position to take. if it helps people who dont have a lot of time to learn tracks, I think it is a great feature.

It's not uncommon for driving schools to use witches hats on the track in the same way.

Are any ARSEs buying this? I haven't played one of these since the 2011 version. I picked up 2015 when cheap but never really played it. I'm considering it now only because I have a super-duper-ultra-wide monitor that makes non-VR driving tolerable.

I am very keen especially after watching this, while the general negativity is around the my team & championship features his comments about it being the best iteration in the franchise makes me want to try it.
The issue for me is committing to that amount of money in the hope I don't have buyers remorse...

I'll give this a miss unless it's significantly better than the last few. I got the last 3 and wasnt that fussed about them.

I brought the PS4 version, and my god Codemasters needs to fuck off with the Fortnite BS. It has some ingame season pass and an extremely slow leveling system to earn the extra liveries/customization options. Not to mention, the MAIN MENU needs to connect to online constantly, so when your net goes down like mine did last night, trying to select anything becomes frustrating having to wait 30 seconds before it lets you try to select something again. Better hope you find your menu option quickly before it tries to connect again!

Otherwise, it's the same F1 game. My team isn't really that different to the driver career in practice. Same options for upgrading the car as the old Driver Career mode, you just get custom liveries instead.

Codemasters have deployed Update V 1.09 for the PC version of the F1 2020 racing game.

Option added so players can engage ERS by holding the button. The option has been added to hold the ERS button, rather than a toggle. Head into Preferences, then Controls, Vibration & Force Feedback, Generic Settings, and you’ll able to change ‘Overtake ERS Mode’ between ‘Hold and ‘Toggle’.
Fixed a soft lock for some users where a contract negotiation would not occur correctly.
A performance issue while the Safety Car is on the track has been addressed.
Sponsors now correctly appear on the player’s car during Weekly Events.

In Split Screen AI opponent numbers can now be customized.
Players are no longer briefly displayed in the wrong position at the end of a qualifying or race session.
